The Mountain Weekly News specializes in sports and entertainment news, local business & technology news. A passionate team of writers and photographers cover events and happenings from the mountains to the sea. The companies main office is located in Denver, Colorado with a remote branch having just opened outside of the Mt Baker ski area for the 2011-2012 season.
History
Founded in 2004 by Mike Hardaker, editor and publisher of the Mountain Weekly News. Mike an aspiring snowboard photographer was looking for media access to the ESPN Winter X-Games in Aspen, Colorado. While applying for credentials Mike realized he needed to be on assignment for a major news outlet, and so the Mountain Weekly News was born…
As cliche as it sounds, little did Mike know that moment would forever change his life and the lives of his future staff members.
Within days Hardaker started his own BLOG to upload photos of his adventures. At first created for family and friends the Mountain Weekly News quickly changed from a blog and print zine by going viral and picking up much needed advertising.
The companies staff has the incredible opportunity to share Mike’s passion for music, sports and the outdoors.
