The Helly Hansen Vancouver Jacket is a classic rain shell that protects against bad weather. Wear the Vancouver jacket on rainy days to stay dry and comfortable.
I’ve been testing the Helly Hansen Vancouver rain jacket for the past six months in the Colorado and Wyoming mountains. I’ve worn it as a rain jacket, a windbreaker, and even as a layering piece. I’ve hiked, run and biked in it. Find out how it performed in my review below :
Helly Hansen Vancouver Jacket Review
I love the Helly Hansen Vancouver Jacket. In fact, I love it so much that I wear it all the time, not just when it’s raining outside. I own the jacket in Essential Purple and instantly feel bright and cheery when I put it on. The jacket fits really well too and has a slim upper body profile which transitions to a tapered waist to accentuate feminine curves so that I don’t look like humpty dumpty when I wear it.
Looks aside, the helly hansen vancouver jacket also performs really well. It sheds rain like nobody’s business, even in down pours. The Velco cuffs on the jacket and the hood draw cord work perfectly, allowing me to tighten up and leave no skin visible in serious inclement weather. The jacket also functions as a good shell, and can be worn when extra layers are needed to protect against wind and other elements.
The zippers work really well on the vancouver jacket, and move seamlessly up and down (something I value because the zippers on my previous rain jacket caught the material and tore through it).
However, despite the positives, this review would not be comprehensive if I failed to mention the things at which the jacket does not excel. First, the Helly Hansen Vancouver rain jacket does not pack super small nor does it breath really well. However, the Vancouver can’t be all things to all people, and these functions are not something you’d expect from a bomber rain jacket.
In sum, the Helly Hansen Vancouver Rain Jacket is one the best fitting, best looking, and best working rain jackets I’ve ever worn. And at $120, the value for the price is unbeatable.
