Director Doug Landin of the Vail Automotive Classic mentioned “This is our first year and were tremendously excited to have so many amazing vehicles converge in our valley. We already have over 60 cars and over 20 airplanes pre-registered, and anticipate far more by the day of the show so this should be a really great display.
Automobiles will be judged in 7 categories including: Classics, Street Rods, European Sports, Muscle Cars, Customs, Super Cars, and Vintage Motorcycles. Rumor has it there will be some special cars on display including a 1920s classic Auburn speedster ( this would be fun to see cruising down I-70 ) and Ford GT40 high performance sports car. Hold on tight, put the seat belt on also on display will be a Ariel Atom II handcrafted with no doors, no roof and as the company motto states ” no compromise!”
There will also be a “Fly-In” portion of the show sure to bring aviators from around the state and beyond to Eagle County. Airplanes confirmed for the show include WWII fighter plane, large G5 corporate jet along with lots of modern planes. For more information on the Vail Automotive Classic 1st Annual Wheels and Wings Show, please visit: www.vailautomotiveclassic.com
