MORRISON, CO – If you are in a band, the high point of your career is to play Red Rocks. If you are a band from Colorado your goal is to Sell out Red Rocks and have a recurring summer date at Red Rocks each year. Big Gigantic has been doing just that, each summer in September they put on a concert called Rowdy Town, which is a way for them to invite friends and family, as well as a who’s who within the music industry to come out and party.
This year was their 3rd year doing Rowdy Town and they sold out Red Rocks for two nights. They had the Motet play with them, as well as a sit in from the Eagle Crest High School Marching Band. Jut imagine how cool would it be to be in Marching Band and get to play at Red Rocks?

Savoy opened for Big Gigantic on the first night and The New Deal on the second night. Beyond the music Big Gigantic stepped up the light show, by projecting videos and light shows on the rocks, not the occasional light, but full on light show on the rocks. This is the future of how Red Rocks Amphitheatre should be lit, and you will start to see other bands follow suit, but remember it was Big Gigantic that brought it to this level first.
Big Gigantic’s manager Ben Baruch, who has been putting on some of the best concerts at The Fox and Boulder Theater in the past decade, just happened to be celebrating his birthday on the 2nd night and to Ben’s Credit, Rowdy Town is one hell of a party. We are already looking forward to next year and are curious what the Big G crew have up their sleeves.
Big Gigantic is made up of Dominic Lalli on Saxophone and Jeremy Salken on Drums, but they are much more that a two guys just jamming, they mix in Electronic Music and take it to a whole new level. They have been blowing away the festival crowds and making a name for themselves in the EDM scene. They payed a Super Jam at Bonnaroo with Skrillex, Damian Marley, Robbie Krieger, Mickey Hart, Zedd and Janelle Monae.
Just to put it in perspective these guys are legit, next year’s Rowdy Town is sure to sell out get your tickets early!
