Do you like to see live music? If so this year is going to be a banger for music fans across the country. Below are some of the concerts and festivals we highly recommend checking out in 2016.
Starting things off Friday April 8 and Saturday April 9 in Las Vegas is the return of Guns N’ Roses. Having grown up on GNR I am uber tempted to attend these shows however two words come to mind. Axl Rose. Fans are hopeful these shows go off without a hitch as the band will either knock it out of the park or walk off stage, like literally walk off stage mid set. It’s Guns N’ F*cking Roses after all and they can and will do whatever they want, for that I will always respect the hell out of the band.
Pearl Jam is back with a string of arena shows starting next Friday April 8 as well. However the best shows will take place later this summer when Pearl Jam headlines the Telluride Ride Festival followed by two nights at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field, respectively. Our bet is the Telluride event on July 9 will be something special for both fans and the band which will certainly equal magic high in the mountains of Colorado.
Colorado always gets amazing music and this summer one of the hottest shows will likely be the Dead & Company at Folsom Field. The last time the Grateful Dead rolled into Boulder for a gig at this stadium was back in 1980. With John Mayer driving the train, this band has far surpassed everyone’s expectations. This time around Phil Lesh has been replaced by Oteil Burbridge and John Mayer is crushing it playing the parts of Jerry Garcia. The rest of the band including Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann are playing as good as ever. If you are able to listen with your heart you may find yourself engulfed in the spirit of the Grateful Dead.

Since were talking Colorado, might as well mention a brand new festival being thrown up in the mountains called the Vertex Festival. Vertex will feature 2 nights of The Trey Anasatio Band, The Revivalist, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Odesza, Alabama Shakes and more to be announced. What makes this event special aside form a unique line up a couple things, first off the location in Buena Vista, Colorado. Secondly is the production crew putting this on – Madison House and AEG Live. Lets just say this event will be well thought out, ought to have great weather and best of all its Colorado so the people and vibe will be warm and welcoming.
this is going to get weird quick..For more info checkout: http://www.vertexfestival.com
LCD Soundsystem will be returning in 2016, in fact the band just played their first shows together since 2011 on Easter at Webster Hall in New York. Be sure to watch the video below of their performance, talk about high energy! Although LCD Soundsystem famously closed out Madison Square garden and sold a DVD of their “final” shows we can’t hate on the band for wanting to reunite while making a lot of fans happy and earning a couple bucks in the process. Don’t ever forget that music is a business too.. And this is surely not the first or last band to have come back to life after a final show announcement.
Other notable bands rumored to be reuniting this year are Oasis and Ween. Now if we could add Pink Floyd to that list, I could die and go to heaven…
