BEAVER CREEK, CO – Whoa, 1980… The Motet put a funky twist on music written over 30 years ago during their October 30th show at the Vilar Center in Beaver Creek Village, playing only songs released in 1980. It was a dance-off from the start, as a mostly costumed audience was treated to the sounds of the 12-piece Motet lineup for the evening.
The band, dressed in strictly 80’s garb, from some fresh Chuckies to a propeller hat, covered well known classics from the likes of Bob Marley, Queen, Paul Simon and Kool and the Gang and Devo, as well as some other off the wall tunes, raging through and finishing with a 3 song encore, to the crowds roaring delight.
Among the crowd were the likes of Duffman, several doctors, a couple penguins, a banana, lion, teddy bear, tiger, the Mad Hatter and some bumblebees, who all seemed to be having a great time. This was the second annual installment of a Motet Halloween show at the Vilar, and if the stars line up next year for another edition it is not to be missed!
