Helly Hansen Embla Review
The jacket is more of a coat than a jacket as it reaches down to the knee. It snaps up the front with five main snaps with the option of two additional snaps if the hood is used. The fit is really flattering and the length allows for a more formal look if needed. The Embla jacket can be worn around town for various occasions, to Apres skis events and more formal events like Red Carpet at Film Festival or company functions.
The Length allows me to wear a dress or skirt underneath as well as pants. Due to the warmth and length of the sleeves I can wear a lightweight shirt or short sleeves under this coat. The fit is comfortable and stylish , it has a flattering look and it even has a hood if a storm rolls in.
The Jacket is lightweight and due to the loose fitting style it feels very light weight and flows when wearing the jacket.
The jacket is made of a hybrid of materials including merino wool and Primaloft One TM insulation. The Jacket is 100% polyamide in the shoulders and arms, Primaloft One insulations is used in the coat with the body of the jacket being made out of 100% merino wool. The construction makes the jacket warm , strong and lightweight.
I’ve worn the Helly Hansen Embla in Denver and Vail and have received many compliments on its style every time. Although the jacket is very cute, comfortable and warm, it is not waterproof so I do not recommend wearing it in the heavy rain or extended periods of time in the snow. This jacket can be worn formally or casually. It’s a must have if you live in colder climates and need a cute jacket for any outing.
The jacket is extremely warm but not waterproof. The merino wool is lightweight and strong. The areas in the shoulders, arms and hood are weather proof and very stylish. The jacket is easily cleaned and very functional.
I am very happy with the jacket and it is perfect for wearing to work and running around town. The look is stylish and comfortable, I like the warmth and not always looking like a ski bum when going to work, or running errands. This is the perfect jacket for going out in any mountain town, if you are in Vail or Aspen for the holidays this would be the perfect jacket to wear while shopping or going out to meet friends.
