The Rhythm Rally

Western Winter Sports Representatives in conjunction with SnowSports Industries America are meeting at Copper Mountain in Colorado February 2nd and 3rd to bring the 2015 On-Snow Demo/Ski and Ride Fest to you!

This year’s demo will feature The Rhythm Rally, a banked slalom race that benefits Adaptive Action Sports (AAS) winter programs. AAS is the first adaptive snowboard specific non-profit organization designed for youth, young adults and wounded veterans living with permanent physical disabilities, TBI and PTSD. This event will raise money to support Paralympic hopefuls and help to create opportunities in action sports.

Winners and Losers

Rhythm Rally will feature a deep pocketed single track that includes rollers and jumps along with a cool kick in the you-know-what! Teams of five riders (each team including one female rider) will slingshot their way down for a cumulative time. Winners will earn the award of “Rally Champs” and Mountain Weekly reps will be right alongside you in attempts to master the banks and walk away with this prestigious title. So count on some competition! Better yet just engrave the Mountain Weekly News name on the team trophy.

When we claim victory you can meet us at the after-party at Incline Bar and Grill and toast our win with drink specials and a surprise musical guest. All this takes place right at the base of Copper Mountain! There will also be a silent auction where you can bid on some of the hottest products in the industry for 2015.

Banked Slalom Racing = FUN

If you’ve ever wanted to be a part of making snowboarding what it is… this is the place to be. Ever heard of the Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom? The race that brought out ISF World Championship half-pipe rider Terje Haakonsen. Banked slalom contests like these are where riders step up to turns and banks and carve out lines that turn a race into a grassroots gathering. Don’t miss it! Come out, ride the course and test your skills. The first team to flow to the finish line earns legend status.

Want to get in on the banked slalom racing action? Only 35 teams will be able to race, so Register early! We’ll see you at Copper Mountain in Denver February 2nd.

Remember to stay low and say your prayers..
