Snow King Mountain Review

Also known as “The Town Hill,” Snow King is a blast to ride. The upper portion is home to the steepest north-facing sustained pitch of any ski runs in North America providing challenging terrain for even the most experienced skiers and snowboarders.

At the end of the day, you just can’t beat Snow King’s location. It’s literally smack dab in the middle of town, giving visitors easy access to everything that Jackson has to offer. All of the town’s hotels and condos are very close, some within walking distance, and many offer free shuttles to the base of the mountain.

Jackson has a number of great restaurants and bars that are sure to fill your belly after a day on the mountain. Snow King’s close proximity to Jackson Hole makes it easy to visit both ski resorts (and both towns) in a single trip. Adding to the overall Snow King experience are a number of other winter opportunities including Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and snow tubing.

It’s also important to note that the mountain receives little to no sunlight in early winter due to its north facing position. Local tradition has it that Valentine’s Day is the first day of the season that the mountain is kissed by the sun. Because of this, the snow conditions are often quite icy during the early part of the year.

Snow King Ski Vacation

If you’re in Jackson, WY be sure to set at least a day aside to visit Snow King Resort. Its night skiing opportunities and close location to town are a reason to visit in themselves. A wide variety of terrain, a fun overall vibe, and a fun small town give you even more reason. Snow King Mountain is one of the best small mountains around.
