Eddie Bauer First Ascent Women’s BC Fineline Bib Review
The steady accumulation of snow in the Tetons has made for some excellent pow days. With seemingly endless terrain at our fingertips it hasn’t been hard to find untouched slopes to explore. We took advantage of a brief weather break to test out the women’s BC Fineline Bib – a premiere ski bib added to Eddie Bauer’s First Ascent line in 2022.
A quick tour on the pass left me impressed with the bib’s functionality and construction. Here are my takeaways:
Fit and Feel

As far as breathability and waterproofness goes, I would rank the Eddie Bauer BC Fineline Bib amongst the best performing. The patented 3-layer WeatherEdge® Pro seam-sealed tech construction along with the StormRepel® Super DWR finish left me feeling dry and comfortable during both the uphill and downhill. I was impressed with the lightweight feel of these women’s bib pants, and the breathability of the upper portion.
Sizing

I am relatively small, measuring in at 5’ 4”, and typically wear an x-small or small in terms of ski clothing. I tried a “small” in the Eddie Bauer BC Finline Bib, and would have preferred to drop down in size.

By adjusting and crossing the straps I was able to alter the fit, but there was still plenty of room to spare. That being said, a “small” would be perfectly suitable for a colder resort day in which more layers would fit comfortably underneath.
Functionality and Features

The thoughtful layout of the pockets and zippers on the BC Fineline Bib was apparent upon first-use. The zippered pocket in the upper bib, proved ideal for touring – perfect for a phone, map, snacks or all of the above. The two side pockets on each leg sported a mesh interior and was placed high enough on the thigh for easy access. Personally I appreciated the full-length zippers on the legs for ventilation.

In the past while traveling uphill I’ve struggled to zip my pants around my loosened boots, but the built-in gaiters are built with a wider fit and enabled a hassle-free experience – leaving my feet both dry and warm.
