For the price, you really can’t beat the InnerKing Goggles! I took the Innerking OTG Magnetic Ski Goggles out on a day touring in on Teton Pass and found them to be quite reliable. It was a sunny and crisp morning, after a long stretch of storms. The snow was deep and honestly kinda heavy, and I was hot on the skin track up.  I put these goggles on during part of my ski tour to see if the heat produced from my body against the cold outside air would fog my goggles; I did not find any fogging at all, yaaahooo! I swapped back to my regular glasses after a while to cool off. I put my goggles in the Innerking soft goggle carry bag that came with them to keep them from getting scratched in my backpack.

I don’t actually wear glasses, but I wanted to try out the OTG design. We were high up on a ridge and the winds were getting a bit gnarly so I pulled out  my goggles and put them on straight over my sunglasses. These goggles are quite large, so my sunglasses had plenty of space to rest comfortably on my face. I can see how this feature would be super helpful for a person that wears glasses. I personally prefer my goggles to tend towards the larger size anyhow as it gives me a larger peripheral view.

We reached our drop in location and I transitioned my splitboard into ride mode. I buckled up my helmet and secured my goggles. I absolutely love the anti-slip, adjustable strap; it keeps my goggles right where I need them without any worries. The foam padding is super comfortable too.

I love how you can swap the lens out so easily on these goggles, there are 8 magnets which feel pretty secure to me. The easy swap system may be concerning if I was riding a more consequential line. An avalanche or a big fall could definitely be enough to pop the frame out, but for a cruisy day of touring or a day riding the resort, I think the magnetic lens is an awesome option for quick lens swap. Having a second lens is crucial too! You never know what weather will be like in the mountains, and having the right gear for conditions is so important for execution.

These goggles were just a bit big on my face, covering more of my nose than I personally needed, but they offered a killer peripheral experience and stayed snug on my face all day. I would highly recommend these to someone trying to get a foot in the door with skiing as snowboarding. The price really does make the experience more accessible which I love!

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • I like the separate format that Innerking has, because it allows you to only get what you need, and easily replace parts.
  • The price makes these quite accessible for someone eager to get out in the mountains.

Cons:

  • I would love to see more colorways for straps.
  • I don’t see much information online for the company which might make it difficult for me to contact them if I ever needed support.

We made it smooth down our line, with great visibility in the mountains,  and through the Innerking lens. Overall, I really liked the InnerKing OTG Magentic Ski & Snowboard Goggles ($28.99)! Opting for a second lens would make a huge difference in the practicality of these goggles, but I really like that you have the option to add that on later.
