Scott React AMP Pro Goggle Review
I hit up Mike, the founder of the Mountain Weekly News telling him I was unhappy with my current goggles I had been using. Any goggles that I have used in the past that I enjoyed riding in have seen better days and had to be put out to pasture. Mike asked if I could try out this new offer from Scott, the React Amp Pro Google and I was excited to give them a go.
Unboxing
Scott Sheer Unboxing the Scott React AMP Pro Goggles
From unboxing the Scott React Amp Pro Goggles I could tell these are not your average high cost no feature goggle. The truth is you are getting what you pay for at $270 a pair. The Scott frame feels like it is built well and the strap is extra wide with lots of grip. The triple layer foam is form fitting and very comfy. When unboxing I could tell I would like the patent pending tech of the lens too.
Teton Tested

I know when doing tests for Mike at Mountain Weekly News he wants me to put things through the ringer. So that is just what I did. On my first day of taking these goggles out for testing I hiked up Teton Pass in winds up to 60mph. My experience with quick release goggles is wind can drive snow in any lil crack in the goggles. This was not the case with The Scott React AMP Pro Goggles. I believe it is a combo of extra heavy-duty lock and strong magnets holding the lens tightly to the frame that keep snow out.

While riding in extremely flat light I was able to see as good as one can in these conditions. Day 2 was my day to get out for the whole day. We started the day off dropping into the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort backcountry off a lesser known area aka the Darkside. If you know the area, you know it’s not the easiest place for snowboarders.
The terrain required a lot of hiking, one footing, walking, scooching and anything to get you back to the base area. The point I’m making is I always put my goggles away in a coat pocket or backpack during this arduous traverse. Lot of locals will actually switch over to sunglasses. With these Goggles I decided to try them on my face or put them up on my beanie while I had to traverse back to the resort.

After the miles of wrapping around the mountain with these goggles on my head they did not have an ounce of fog to speak of. Riding around in the flat light was no problem with the lens tech in the React AMP Pro’s.
Even when the sun came through the low light lens it still felt like my eyes were protected. The next big test was a long boot pack to some incredible snow. Again, I have refrained from hiking with my goggles on as they will fog horribly. Wanting to put the Scott Goggles to the test, I decided to hike with them the whole time. Now that I look back, I realize if my test did not go as planned it would have made for a miserable ride down…. Due to all the tech in these Goggles, I did not have any fog form during the hike or way down.

Pros & Cons
Pros:
Exceptional Fog Resistance: The goggles consistently performed well in situations where fogging is typically an issue, including high-exertion activities like hiking and boot packing, and even when worn on the head during traverses. This suggests a highly effective anti-fog coating and ventilation system.
Excellent Visibility in Variable Conditions: The goggles provided good visibility in both flat light and when the sun emerged, indicating the lens technology effectively adapts to changing light conditions.
Cons:
Price: At $270, these goggles are a significant investment. The review explicitly acknowledges they are a “high cost” option, which may be a barrier for some potential buyers.
Brand Preference (Potential Con for Some): While the reviewer ultimately praises the goggles, they mention a tendency to support snowboard-specific brands. This could be a minor drawback for those with a strong loyalty to brands solely focused on snowboarding, though the reviewer notes Scott’s other high-quality products.
Overall Impression

I usually don’t put style and steez in the same sentence as tech, but these Scott Goggles deliver. From the large lens for a large view to the thick strap. These googles look as good as they perform. As a snowboarder I usually try to support snowboard brands but I have to admit I own other Scott Sports products and Scott seems to offer high tech products throughout their line, the React AMP Pro Goggles ($270.00) are definitely one of their better high end products.
