Why are they sold out on the Dragon website? Because they’re great. I tested the Jam LL H2O Polar Sunglasses from Dragon while biking and lifestyling around Jackson. Whether the roads were dusty or paved, the Jams kept us looking stylish and our eyes protected. For those yearning for aquatic adventures, they passed our kitchen sink float test with flying colors.

Fit & Style

Dragon’s website mentions the clean and confident lines highlighted by “metal badge detailing at the temple.” After testing so many other frames that don’t quite fit, the Mountain Weekly News test team was stoked to have a pair of sport sunglasses that fit just right. I loved the color combination we tested, but for those seeking other color combos, the Dragon website (which is sold out) claims to have color and lens combinations for everyone and every taste.

I also really liked how the sunglasses float without huge air-filled arms or other obnoxious design tweaks. Floating is a win. Stylish sunglasses floating is an even bigger win in our book.

Materials and Build Quality

The sunglasses were top-notch. They were light, but solid. Smooth, but didn’t slide off your face. The unfolded easily, but didn’t whip open without warning. The hole at the top of the frames provided an extra ventilation boost.

The lenses provided a great tint, but were frustratingly smothered in stickers not shown on the website. Why put advertisements all over the lenses when the sunglasses get shipped in a box that includes a pamphlet? Afraid of scratching the lenses, I never bothered to take off the stickers. We all hope Dragon discontinues this practice of stickering the lenses.

They float! How do they float? Dragon’s H2O Floatable sunglasses use “a specially formulated injection molded resin with a density lower than water,” which allows them to float. The sunglasses in the lineup are made with water-resistant hardware and are designed with hydrophobic and oleophobic lens coatings, which repel water, dirt, oil, and other gunk to ensure you always have a clear view.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Floatable Design: They float in water due to a specially formulated resin, making them great for aquatic activities without needing bulky design modifications.

  • Great Fit & Style: The sunglasses offer a “just right” fit and stylish “clean and confident lines” with metal badge detailing. The tested color combination was well-liked.

  • High-Quality Build: They are light yet solid, smooth, and don’t slide off during activities. They also feature a ventilation hole at the top.

Cons:

  • Lenses Covered in Stickers: The lenses arrive “frustratingly smothered in stickers” that are not shown on the website, which the reviewer hopes Dragon discontinues due to fear of scratching the lenses when removing them.

I liked the fit, style, and quality of the sunglasses. The price tag of the Dragon Jam H20 Sunglasses ($205.00) feels a bit steep, but prices are rising across the industry as quality materials become more expensive.

Sorry, no prices available at this time.
