I’ve been practicing on the Manduka Pro Yoga Mat for a year and a half and love it. Although I own other yoga mats, the Black Mat Pro is my go-to favorite.

4 Overall Impression

The Manduka Black Mat Pro is very durable, has great traction, and is luxuriously comfortable on hands and feet. When I practice on the Manduka Black Mat PRO, I don’t have to worry about mat performance.; the Black Mat Pro does not slip or bunch, but instead, provides great stability in all postures.

Do expect a break-in period with your Black Mat PRO. The Manduka Pro Mat Break in Process It took about three months of twice-a-week practice to break down the thin, slippery film that comes on new Black Mat Pro products. (Cleaning the mat with warm, salty water and then sun drying does help speed up the initial break-in process.)

Sorry, no prices available at this time.

Manduka Black Mat PRO Size & Weight

It should be noted that the Manduka Black Mat PRO is heavy and is more difficult to lug around than smaller mats. Secondly, due to its size and girth, the Black Mat PRO does not fit in many standard-size yoga mat bags. However, I have found a great solution: the Prana Tote Yoga Mat Holder. This holder accommodates any-sized mat and is very comfortable on shoulders.

Manduka PRO Yoga Mat Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Durable and great traction
  • Luxuriously comfortable on hands and feet
  • Lifetime warranty for peace of mind

Cons:

  • Heavy and difficult to lug around
  • May not fit in standard-size yoga mat bags

Overall Impression

Overall, if you’re looking for a great, long-lasting, high-performance yoga mat, it doesn’t get much better than the Manduka Black Mat PRO ($120). With a lifetime warranty, you can also be assured that if anything goes wrong with your sexy black mat you’ll be able to get your money back.

Namaste and happy practicing!
