Congrats go out to Crystal Mountain local Forrest Burki and Shannan Yates from Snowbird for taking the Sword at the 2010 North Face Masters of Snowboarding contest at Crystal Mountain.

Shannan charged down the Silver King venue in poor visibilty, threw down 3 clean airs and showed the crowd shes used to riding deep snow. Crystal Local Forrest Burki was riding hard all weekend and showed his hometown skills and experience floating thru the pow and cranking power turns.

The mountain snow report this morning reported 4″ of fresh snow, once on top of the mountain conditions road much more like 12-14″ of fresh pow. Overhead turns were a common site while people entered the “White Room” all the way down to the base of the resort. Riding in the Pacific Northwest is so much fun, we were soaking wet and would continue to go for lap after lap. You can hit everything, the snow sticks to the coolest features and there’s natural terrain for miles and miles..

One of the most solid runs of the day was thrown down by Wolf Creek Colorado local Charlie Hoch. Charlie flew down the mountain cranking huge powder turns and showing he is comfortable in the steep and deep. Looking forward to seeing what he does in the future.
