Sims Snowboards has announced their founder Tom Sims has passed away according to twitter post this morning

SIMSSnowboards
In Memoriam: Tom Sims 1950 – 2012. Forever missed, forever loved and #foreveralegend.

Tom was a pioneer in the sports of skateboarding and snowboarding. Having lived in Santa Barbara California since 1971 Tom Sims was fully engrained in the surf skate lifestyle. If not for Tom and his modified snurfer the snowboard industry would never grown to where it is today.

Thanks Tom for everything you brought to both sports!!

Enjoy these classic videos of Tom!!! RIP and be sure to make some pow turns for us in heaven..

Skateboards were sure funny back in the day, digging the old school vibe!
