I’ve been using the BillieBars Tailgate Cover/pad on my 2013 Nissan Frontier for the last month now, and it’s one of those accessories that just makes sense to have.

The padding is incredible — I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I noticed I could actually kneel in the bed of my truck without wrecking my knees. Super comfortable and durable. With the BillieBars Tailgate Cover being padded, it also makes the perfect workbench for my camera gear while I’m out on shoots. The fit is spot-on — it looks clean, feels solid, and adds a level of comfort and functionality that I didn’t realize I was missing.

Clever Features

The built-in cup holders are a clever touch too. I didn’t think I’d use them much, but on camping trips or when tailgating, they’ve turned out to be super handy. They hold drinks securely, even on uneven ground, and make the tailgate feel like a proper little hangout spot. It’s great not having to worry about knocking over drinks or setting them in the dirt.

Setting up Billie Bars Tailgate Cover

Installation of the BilleBars Tailgate Cover was simple and straightforward — everything fit perfectly, and it only took a few minutes to get it mounted. Overall, it’s a really well-thought-out product that adds both comfort and functionality to the truck. Highly recommend it for any Nissan Frontier owner who actually uses their tailgate regularly.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Exceptional Comfort and Durability: The padding makes kneeling in the truck bed comfortable and provides a great surface for tasks like a camera workbench.

  • Convenient Built-in Features: The cup holders are surprisingly useful for camping and tailgating, securing drinks and enhancing the tailgate’s functionality as a social spot.

Cons:

  • Minor Installation Issue: The included screws were too narrow, requiring a trip to the hardware store for thicker replacements.

BillieBars makes a great collection of gear to upgrade your truck including the Billie Bars Tailgate Cover ($375.00) I tested. My only downside is that the screws that came with the tailgate cover were too narrow so I had to go to Ace to buy thicker screws. Other than that, I’d recommend it to anyone looking at getting a tailgate cover!
