The all-new Qiolor Tiger Plus is a ferocious electric bike that more than blurs the line between motorcycle and ebike— it tips the scales. With an unmistakably retro, café racer aesthetic, the Tiger Plus rips around city streets with ultimate confidence.

This Plus-sized version has bigger and badder features, ideal for fast riders looking for motorcycle-inspired performance with the convenience of an ebike. I’ve recently gotten my paws on this amped-up electric bike to see if it’s earned its racing stripes.

Café Racer Electric Bike

With its boosted specs and bigger stature, the Tiger Plus feels more like an electric motorcycle than an ebike. While that may spook some recreational riders away, people searching for powerful moto-inspired performance will be drawn to this café racer setup. The double rear air shocks, dual-crown fork, wide tires, and classic motorcycle styling sufficiently bulk up the ebike to approach motorcycle territory.

There’s even a tradition of café racers named ‘Tiger’, including the mid-century Triumph Tiger and new Honda Tiger motorcycles. This Qiolor model even has some cheeky black-and-white striped detailing to match the tiger theme.

As the Plus version of the standard Qiolor Tiger, this model has a longer bench seat (that fits two riders), a taller frame, upgraded brakes, and multiple gears. Likely too much ebike for simple bike path cruising, the Tiger Plus is a fun and fast ride on city streets with plenty of pace to keep up with cars. The larger frame is recommended for riders between 5’3” and 6’6″.

Full Suspension

The Tiger Plus doesn’t hold back when it comes to its suspension specs, equipped with a dual crown front fork and two rear coil air shocks. So many cushioning components add to the overall weight of the bike and achieve a smooth ride, whether it’s paved streets or light off-roading. There are preload and compression adjustment dials on the suspension fork to tune the performance to your liking.

30 MPH Top Speed

The Speed of The Qiolor Tiger Plus Was Perfect for Handling Single Track Trails | Photo Connor Burkesmith Mountain Weekly News

I’m not sure if tigers are generally known for their outright speed, but this Qiolor Tiger Plus definitely should be. This lightning-fast model is listed with a maximum speed of 26 mph, but I reached a blistering 30 mph during testing. The ebike is powered by a 750W rear hub motor with five levels of pedal assist and a throttle mode. I noticed that the throttle isn’t limited by the selected pedal assist level, so you can ride full-blast whenever you want— but be aware of the serious power available at your fingertips!

The ebike’s low center of gravity means it handles nicely at speed and tracks well, gripping the road and providing a fluid ride. To be sure, the Tiger Plus is designed to be enjoyed mostly in throttle mode and for the motor to do most of the work. The static bench seat means there’s a low riding position that doesn’t offer much leverage while pedaling. The upgrade to 7-speed gearing helps avoid ghost pedaling and spinning out, though. There’s no torque sensor, but since I’d probably be riding in throttle mode most of the time, it’s not a dealbreaker for me.

Battery Capacity

E-Bike Battery

The battery that’s cleverly disguised as a motorcycle fuel tank is one of the coolest features of the Tiger Plus. It’s a design choice that works without being gimmicky— the ebike successfully pulls off the 1950s retro motorcycle styling. The illuminated battery level indicator is even camouflaged as a fuel tank cap. Buyers can choose between the 15Ah and 35Ah battery options. The estimated 130-mile range of the larger battery is a serious stretch— regardless, you’d be hard-pressed to find a higher-capacity battery on another ebike.

Weight & Rear Passenger

Unsurprisingly, the Tiger Plus is a heavy beast of an ebike. The entire setup weighs in at 98 lbs.  so carrying this bike upstairs or on a bike rack (even many e-bike-specific racks) is a no-go. But all that burliness means the ebike can support a maximum payload capacity of 440 lbs., meaning you can easily ride with an adult passenger at the back. The plush, pleated seat is taken straight from vintage motorcycles and has a nice upswept angle at the rear. There are also convenient footpegs provided for the passenger.

Components

In terms of componentry, the Tiger Plus rolls on a pair of 26×4” Innova fat tires that offer plenty of traction and cushion. The standard Tiger is single-speed, whereas this Plus version has a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain. It’s not the highest-quality gearing, but it significantly improves the pedal assistance experience in the faster modes. Another upgrade is the 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes that are more powerful than the standard model’s 2-piston design.

Technology

The Tiger Plus is loaded with convenient and futuristic tech, including integrated turn signals, a large dashboard, and NFC locking. The cockpit of this electric bike seems more like that of a motorcycle, with the large illuminated dashboard at the center of the handlebars and a handy USB port to charge smaller devices. The push-button controls are intuitive and a great tech addition— the horn is plenty loud as well.

Qiolor provides two NFC cards that riders can use as key fobs to securely unlock their Tiger Plus. Users can also download that digital key to their phone for another convenient way to access their ebike. It was easy to use and saved me from the pain of carrying around yet another pair of jangling keys.

QIOLOR Tiger Plus — Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Successful retro styling: Cool, classic café racer-inspired design
  • NFC security: Unlock the ebike with a contactless key or mobile phone
  • Powerful and fast motor: Stable at high speed and reached 30 mph during testing

Cons:

  • Heavy ebike: Weighs 98 lbs. which can be difficult to maneuver off the bike
  • Throttle mode priority: Awkward pedaling position because of fixed-position seat

The Qiolor Tiger Plus ($2,199) is a convincing ebike to rule the urban jungle and explore some light off-road terrain, too. It strikes a stylish balance between impressive power, integrated tech, and flair that stays true to its retro inspiration. For riders who want a motorcycle-like experience with the qualifications of an ebike— less noise, zero emissions, and low maintenance— the roaring Tiger Plus earns its stripes.

Thanks for the detailed review, it’s hard to find such an in-depth look at this model online. It helped a ton.
One question: It looks like it’s pretty comfortable for your height, but I didn’t see you mentioning it. I’m on the taller side, and that is the only thing that worries me about getting this model.

      Rab,

Thanks for reaching out, and more so. Heck I should mention my height on all the reviews. (noted) 5’11.
