As someone who spends a lot of time shooting and playing in harsh winter conditions, I take my eyewear seriously. After seeing the Sweet Protection Connor RIG Reflect Goggle, I knew I had to try them out. My name is Connor after all.

Visual Clarity & Lens Performance

The Connor Goggle comes with Sweet Protection’s RIG® lens technology: providing superior contrast, minimum color distortion and reduced eye fatigue. I went with the Bixbite lens option which is ideal for lower light conditions. I found that terrain definition is razor sharp all while retaining accurate color tones.

I also loved the field of vision. These Sweet Protection Goggles are sized right down the middle (my preference) and because of the frameless design, the field of vision is just as good as the behemoth sized frames you might find elsewhere. One upgrade I would like to see is a magnetic lens for easier lens exchange. When done correctly, magnetic lenses can be a game changer.

Note: I typically use different ski goggles for different conditions rather than change the lens but for people who don’t have multiple goggles or for fast and light trips, quick lens changes can make all the difference.

Fit & Comfort

Maybe my favorite part of Sweet Protection’s Connor RIG Goggle was the fit. The Connor fit my face wonderfully and worked with both of my helmets (one Marker, one Sweet Protection). The padding created a perfect seal and didn’t rub or irritate my skin – a common issue for me after a long day of skiing wearing a pair of goggles. I also found that the ventilation was bomber even on socked in cold days.

Build Quality

I can be rough on gear while in the field and it’s not uncommon during a shoot or mission that I throw goggles in my touring / backcountry backpack with no protection. The Connor RIG Google have held up flawlessly. In addition, you can simply tell the goggles are robust and meant to last.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Exceptional Visual Clarity: The RIG® lens technology provides superior contrast, minimal color distortion, and reduced eye fatigue, with razor-sharp terrain definition and accurate color tones.

  • Excellent Field of Vision: The frameless design offers a wide field of vision, comparable to larger goggle frames, without being oversized.

  • Superior Fit & Comfort: The goggles provide a wonderful fit with various helmets, create a perfect seal without irritation, and offer bomber ventilation.

  • Robust Build Quality: They are highly durable and hold up flawlessly to rough treatment, indicating a long-lasting design.

Cons:

  • No Magnetic Lens System: The absence of a magnetic lens for quick exchange could be a drawback for users who frequently swap lenses or don’t carry multiple goggles.
