POCito Obex MIPS Ski Helmet Takes Kids Safety to Next Level

“This Helmet is the Best” Written by a Grom…

The POCito Obex Helmet built for Kids was one of the best helmets I have had in a long time. The first run I did with it was amazing and the vents are the best thing, came in clutch. It also is good with tightening because I have a small head (though I wear a beanie under it) and it has a nice goggle holder with a strap.

The Obex designed for groms will never let go of your ski goggles thanks to the clip. You can also put head phones in so try to do that, it makes your solo laps so fun. This POC Obex Helmet locks in, so when I hit a big jump it doesn’t bounce on my head at all. And the earmuffs are so warm when going downhill but you can take them off which makes a huge difference for hiking.

The POCito Obex was one of the sturdiest helmets I’ve ever worn. So I ski through a lot of tree runs and normally my helmets get pretty scratched up. But not this Obex. I also fall a lot but once again no scratches. This ABS top shell is really insanely strong. While it was solid on the outside, the inside of this POC helmet was like a pillow on Christmas eve.

The MIPS Brain Protection System means that it is so cushioning even when I fall while spinning (I tend to over-rotate my 180s). The insulation is great both for keeping it warm and keeping it comfortable. The chin strap is easy to adjust to help with a great fit.

The comfort of the Obex is really good unlike some helmets that use too much soft stuffing so you feel like your head is swimming in fluff the POC Obex create the same level of comfort as puffier helmets but doesn’t use 5 pounds of stuffing. But there is enough stuffing in the POC Obex that if you fall you can feel this cushion save your head.

The helmet doesn’t pinch your head either. Some helmets give me a headache but not the well-fit POC Obex thanks to the size adjustment. My stepdad says that’s also due to in-mold construction and the EPS liner. When I get too hot the integrated vents are like air conditioners for my head. The vents are easy to open and close and have options: closed, half, and full. Finally the chin strap is a soft little pad that doesn’t rub my skin hard at all.

The-look of the Obex helmet is fire. You can put guys or girls in that helme and it fits.

I like how the POC Obex is a slick black so the sun reflects off of it like a tough bald man’s head. The size adjustment makes a fun sound and is easy to adjust to fit over my hats or head but really looks like a technical dial.

POC Helmet Venting
No More Worrying About Overheating Thanks to the Vents on the POC Kids Ski Helmet | Photo Ryan Ariano Mountain Weekly News

I feel like the Obex Kids POC Helmet ($169.00) is a bullet proof case around my head which makes my parents happy but it’s still really comfy. The scratch protection is good because it keeps my POC helmet looking new and shiny. If you tighten it too much it might hurt your ears (especially if you wear a beanie under it) but overall the Obex was the best helmet I’ve ever had. The vents of the POC Obex came in clutch. I can’t believe how much I use them. I like to use their earpieces and now I really want the headphone versions. The shape of the helmet fits really well around my head.

So thank you POC for sending this protective work of art for us to test out.
