Lacrosse Alphaburly Pro Get Dirty Boots Review

Like the boots of Batman’s body armor, Lacrosse’s Alphaburly Pro Boots are thick and tough shields for your feet capable of handling the roughest of conditions. These waterproof Alphaburly Pros are thick and insulated, warmer than most rubber boots out there. The treads are burly but grippy, the body is considerably less stiff than comparable wellys and the look gives a stylish gray splash to a category almost invariably dominated by standard black. Lacrosse’s Alphaburly Pro boots mean business, no doubt. From snow to rain to mud to everything in between, when you’re dealing with the nasty, you gotta make sure you’re nastier.

Lacrosse didn’t mess around when they constructed their Alphaburly Pro boots. They layered natural rubber on the outer for impenetrable protection, and then added in neoprene for more shielding and comfort. This is like a dry suit on top of a wetsuit. Which made it perfect when I decided to get my late winter fish on, walking through snow and then through the river without my feet even remotely wet. No doubt that was helped out by the height of the neoprene cuffs, 18 inches of pretection. Because it’s not just the materials but also the design that makes me love the Alphaburly Pro boot. And obviously they were great in these wet, snowy storms that have smashed us all winter.

One of the design touches that made me fall in love with Lacrosse’s Alphaburly Pro is the tightener strap on the calf. You want to tuck your pants into your tall waterproof boots to keep your pants from getting wet. This is tough with most tall rubbers. Lacrosse has added a strap to loosen them up so you can slip your legs in with pants, then tighten them to ensure water doesn’t get in and cold doesn’t get out. Then the Burly Pro treads held so good even on all the ice we’ve gotten this wet, warm winter that they even beat out my stickiest winter boots. My Lacrosse Alphaburly Pros became my standard for cruising around town, for walking in the woods, for before and after ski touring, and for working in my yard snowblowing and shoveling and everything else. That’s another key: I got the arctic-rated Alphaburly Pros, with 1600G Thinsulate Ultra insulation.

Insulation and waterproofness in the Lacrosse Alphaburly Pro

The Lacrosse Alphaburly Pro has one huge advantage over most rubber-boot competitors. These boots are warm, warmer than any other rubber Welly-like mud and mire boots. That’s because they have insulation. These Alphaburly Pros are loaded up with 1600G Thinsulate Ultra, giving a softer, happier feel than about any other boot that’s absolutely impenetrable by water and weather.

Overall Impression

I’ve never had a pair of boots that combined dryness, warmth, and performance in one boot like Lacrosse’s Alphaburly Pro Boot ($159.99) has. I’ve worn these boots through mud, snow, and river. While hiking and driving and working outdoors. Clearing the yard, getting to our adventures. Yeah, these boots are made for everything the outdoors can throw at you in your wild, adventurous outdoor life. Live like a winter superhero in Lacrosse’s Alphaburly Pro.
