Beyond Clothing Men’s ARX 2.0 L6 Rain Jacket Review
During a recent trip to the Utah’s high Uintas Wilderness, I had the opportunity to put the Beyond ARX 2.0 L6 Rain Jacket to work on a cold windy day. As I started the days hike, I knew wearing the ARX 2.0 would be a good outer layer addition. A cold, windy mid 30° start and I could immediately notice the difference between in the Beyond ARX 2.0 L6 Rain Jacket and previous rain jackets I have owned.
Waterproof Zippers

Moving along the trail, and the tail end of the most recent storm, I found my hands in the extra-large front pockets of the Beyond ARX 2.0 quite often. The deep front pockets and waterproof zippers were an ideal perk of the ARX 2.0 L6 Rain Jacket and kept my loose camera gear items safe and dry.
I was able to effortlessly open and close each waterproof zipper with the added zipper tabs, which are definitely a perk. These tabs truly made using each zipper a breeze.
Adjustable Fit

When first putting the Beyond L6 Rain Jacket on, I felt the sleeves were a bit oversized. Luckily, the adjustable hoop and loop cuffs helped make for a comfortable fit around my wrists. The extra room in the sleeves is beneficial especially with the added layers I had on. This along with the two way zipper side vents and I was able to keep cool and comfortable when the temperatures began to rise around lunch time. I found the location of the front hem cinch easily accessible while carrying around a 35L hiking backpack, the front placement made for quick on-trial adjustments as needed.
Testing in Rain
As mid-morning came so did a rain down pour. I zipped closed all of the waterproof zippers, tossed on the brimmed adjustable crown hood and watched as the rain rolled right off the Lutra 3 layer hardshell Beyond Rain Jacket. Treated with DWR (durability water repellent) the ARX 2.0 L6 Rain Jacket did not absorb one drop as I moved through the rain. As the sky opened up I gave this Rain Jacket a good shake and watched all the rain water fall right off.

The 3 layer Lutra with CORDURA nylon face fabric creates a great waterproof hardshell that provides a great barrier between you and the elements. The Beyond ARX 2.0 L6 Rain Jacket worked great in the cold, wet, and windy Uinta Wilderness. Not only will it keep you dry, but it will definitely stand the test of time against bushes and tree branches with its abrasion and tear resistant hardshell fabric.
