Patagonia Women’s Triolet Jacket Review

I tested the Triolet jacket while splitboarding in the Tetons during a heavy snow year and I look forward to bringing it while sport climbing this spring then on alpine summit missions this summer.

GORE-TEX

I wore this coat to tour up during heavy snowfall, I stayed dry and did not overheat. I was well protected from wind blasts at the summit. This Women’s Snowboard Jacket is made from a triple layer of breathable and windproof GORE-TEX fabric and a 100% recycled polyester cover for an extremely durable coat that keeps you warm and dry.

The Patagonia Women’s Triolet Jacket is lightweight and takes up minimal space but offers heavy protection from weather elements. With zero bulk, the thoughtfulness in the features enhances the safety this jacket provides.

Features

The Triolet was designed for rugged environments and adventures that involve gear. The cool thing is that this coat has almost no impact on your pack, it’s so streamlined. All of the zippers are low profile and waterproof. There are two  ‘hand warmer’ pockets with a low profile design to stay clear of backpack hip belts and harnesses. There is a bonus interior pocket for goggles or soft accessories that you may need in a pinch.

The low profile cuff design snugs right to any glove. I really liked the  gusseted underarms design which adds to the athleticism of the coat by giving you room to move your arms and of course it has pit-zips for ventilation.

The helmet-compatible hood is two-way adjustable and has a laminated visor. The Triolet also has a concealed Recco reflector that makes you searchable to more rescuers. From safety to fit and function, Patagonia has put a lot of thought into this alpine destined jacket.

Overall Impression

Patagonia is a reputable brand that deserves a round of applause for the quality design in this Triolet jacket. The Triolet has a regular, athletic fit that is comfortable with a puffer layer underneath. All the low bulk features create a beautiful streamline look. It is impressive how light this coat feels with the protection it provides. This hardshell has good value by narrowing the number of coats I now need for alpine adventures.
