About Camp Chef

The Camp Chef company has been around since 1991, and it shows in their experience crafting quality outdoor cooking gear.

From the 90s to present day, Camp Chef continues to produce top-of-the-line grills, smokers, and other cooking appliances for both home chefs and professional cooking teams.

One of their most popular products is the Woodwind Wifi Smoker/BBQ, which is what you and I will be taking a look at today.

The Camp Chef Woodwind 24 is a high-end cooker that features tons of accessories! And although it’s one of the pricier smokers on the market, it’s also one of the most capable and user-friendly.

So let’s take a closer look at what makes this smoker so special, and see if it’s worth the investment.

Lots of Room

This grill has some great features that make it perfect for smoking or barbecuing. I really appreciate that the Woodwind 24 Smoker/BBQ gives you 811 square inches of smoking real estate. You’re sure to have plenty of space to smoke all your favorite foods.

In fact, cooking up food for multiple guests is a breeze, thanks to two smoking racks. I had no problem preparing several different kinds of food simultaneously. As such, this unit is ideal for both small gatherings and large-scale cookouts.

As the name implies, the Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi 24 Smoker/BBQ comes with wifi capabilities, so you can monitor and adjust your smoking temperature remotely. This is a really neat feature that I found to be quite handy.

Granted, it’s becoming the norm on high-end grills, but I was impressed by how well it worked. It made the overall grilling experience easier than ever before. Controlling the unit remotely is easy to use with app via Bluetooth technology.

Another great feature of this smoker is that you get probes to go into food x4. This lets you keep track of the internal temperature of your food without having to open the lid and let all the heat escape.

The Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi 24 Smoker/BBQ also features an ash purge system. Aptly named the “Ash Kickin’” cleanout system, it allows you to quickly and easily get rid of any old or leftover pellet ash, so you can always start with fresh pellets for each smoking session.

Ease of Use

Another thing that struck me was just how easy this smoker is to use. I’m not an expert by any means, but I was able to get it up and running without any issues.

The included instructions are clear and concise, so even first-time users should find this smoker easy to use and have no problem getting things going.

I was also impressed with the overall quality of the construction. The Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi 24 Smoker/BBQ is built to last, with a sturdy steel body and heavy-duty hardware.

Admittedly, some areas of the unit are more robust than others. But by and large, you’re getting a solid cooking machine that is sure to serve you well.

Incredible Flavor

More people are opting to smoke their food than ever before. And the reason for that is simple: great flavor. When you smoke your food, you’re infusing it with rich, wood-fired flavor that just can’t be replicated any other way.

And because the Woodwind 24 is a pellet smoker, the easy-to-add pellets can also flavor this way, giving you that smoky-rich taste you crave.

I appreciate just how well this smoker works in this department. You’re guaranteed to get tons of flavor from all your favorite foods. So whether you’re smoking a rack of ribs or grilling up some chicken, you can rest assured that your food will taste incredible.

And if you need some ideas for more great eats, you can always find menus and recipes available from Camp Chef.

Pros and Cons

I really like the design of this smoker. It’s very sleek and modern looking while still maintaining that classic smoker feel. I also love how easy it is to use. The digital controls make it super simple to set the temperature and control the unit.

A simple scroll wheel controls the action on the grill itself, while the app takes care of everything remotely. It’s a well-designed unit that’s sure to appeal to beginners and seasoned chefs alike.

The only drawback that I could find in the Woodwind 24 is that it takes a little while to heat. It’s certainly not a deal breaker, and it doesn’t affect the overall performance in any way. Other than that, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth with this one. Just just plan ahead a few minutes to let the pellets get to temperature.

Overall Impression

I really enjoyed smoking and barbequing on the Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi 24 Smoker/BBQ. Overall, I was mightily impressed with its performance, build quality, and ease of use. If you’re looking for a smoker that can do it all, this is definitely one to consider.

Perhaps most importantly, though, is that you can look forward to excellent flavor when cooking on the Woodwind. The pellet system goes a long way in adding that unique smoked flavor.

And with the various settings available, you can really dial in the taste to your liking. No matter what you’re smoking or barbequing, I think you’ll be happy with the results.

I would highly recommend the Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi 24 Smoker/BBQ ($999.99) to anyone in the market for a top-quality smoker/barbeque. It’s an exceptional cooker that will no doubt provide years of enjoyment. Thanks for reading, and happy smoking!

Hunters will especially love the flavor this smoker provides, by obtaining flawlessly smoked food.
