CIVIVI is part of WE Knife Co. Ltd the largest knife manufacture in China. They know a thing or two about making sharp, reliable blades. So when they updated their popular Praxis knife in a mini version we took note. Especially considering all the different blade and handle options available in the Mini Praxis Flipper Knife line.

Blade Options

The CIVIVI Praxis Mini is available in 3 different blade / handle options. For our test we tried out the standard D2 Blade with the Black Handle.

There are two other models of this CIVIVI foldable knife available:

  • Green Handle Knife with D2 Blade in Black Stonewash – $35.00
  • Wood Handle Knife with Black Damascus – $70.00

The major difference between the hunting knives will be mostly in the blades where the D2 is semi stainless steel vs the Damascus Blade which is stainless steel. For long term sharpness the higher end Damascus Blade is a great pick. And for under $80 it’s a no-brainer. Where as the other D2 Blades are still awesome and come in at a price of $35 which is incredibly reasonable for a knife of this quality.

When opening and closing this knife one of the first things that stands out is how smooth the action is. The knife blade goes where you want it to when you want it to.  And can be opened and closed in a single hand. Opening takes a little more effort but once you get use to the flipper it’s a pretty darn easy knife to operate.

CIVIVI Mini Praxis Flipper Knife Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Sharp blade
  • Smooth action for easy operation

Cons:

  • Opening takes a little more effort
  • Blade options limited to 3 models

There are lots of similar knifes on the market that easily cost 2-3 times what CIVIVI knives cost, especially the Mini Praxis Foldable Knife. In this instance don’t let price or lack there of turn you off from trying out these knives.  Now would this be the CIVIVI knife I hunt with, no way but for an everyday carry knife, camping, hiking or fishing the CIVIVI Mini Praxis Foldable Knife ($35.00) is a great pick.
