Bluetti AC2A & AC70 Power Station Review
Bluetti is one of the leaders in power storage and green power solutions for consumers. So it’s exciting to see them coming out with a new generation of improved power storage solutions. Of course, newer isn’t always better, so we decided to take a look at the AC2A and AC70 power stations to get a better sense of the power behind the new generation of technology.
Normally we review power stations and accessories separately. However, since these two power stations are explicitly designed to work together and complement each other for a more complete power solution than a single station alone, we decided to combine the review as well.
Don’t worry though, I’ve still given these power stations the in-depth review you expect. If you’re not sure whether the Bluetti AC2A and AC70 are the right machines for you, you’re in the right place!
About Bluetti
As always, let’s start by talking about Bluetti as a company. A leader in green energy solution technologies, Bluetti’s business model focuses on putting the power in consumer hands, literally.
They offer a wide range of power station batteries designed for both home use, and travel. They have a line of products ranging from backup power solutions to mobile power you can take with you camping and backpacking so you don’t have to go completely without power.
In addition to power stations, Bluetti also offers a range of mobile and durable solar panels that can be used to directly charge compatible power stations. Assuming you have a compatible panel and power station for storage, that gives consumers access to off-the-grid power.
Bluetti also focuses on durability. Getting independent and mobile power sources can take a significant investment from the average consumer. While Bluetti focuses in part on making sure their energy solutions are affordable an in reach, they also work hard to make their power stations and solar panels durable and long-lasting.
That way you know you’re going to get your money’s worth out of the power solutions you buy, whether you’re buying for a mobile power source, or just to take some of your power needs off-grid and lower your utility bills.
What Is The Bluetti AC2A

The Bluetti AC2A is the smaller of these two power stations, but don’t let that fool you. This power station still packs a whopping 204.8-watt hours of power storage and has a 600-watt lifting power mode for faster charging or operating higher demand appliances.
The power station is also rated for 3,000 or more charging cycles before the battery starts to have a noticeable memory. You can expect at least 80% of the original capacity after 3,000 charge cycles.
It’s also relatively lightweight, at about 8 lbs, and about the same size as a standard toaster. If you wanted to take this power station on a hike, it would probably be one of the heaviest things in your kit, but not by much.
Like the AC70, this power station is also fully compatible with the Bluetti app and Bluetooth control. So you can also use this power station like a smart outlet, connecting small appliances to it and turning them on remotely with just the press of a button.

What Is The Bluetti AC70

The Bluetti AC70 is the bigger and badder of the two power stations. This one is designed to offer compatibility and a reliable power source for appliances and machines that need more juice than the AC2A could handle on it’s own.
It’s a bit larger, 22.5 lbs means that this power station is a little less mobile. However, it’s still compact and lightweight enough to be an effective power source for stationary camping trips.
It’s also powerful enough to use in your home, though, like the AC2A you’re mostly going to want to run small appliances and rechargeable personal devices off of this machine.
For larger appliances, including refrigerators, laundry machines, or medical equipment, you will still want a larger whole home generator to provide backup power.
This power station brings an impressive 768 watt hours of total capacity, with 2,000 watt lifting power perfect for running mini kettles, hair dryers, and other power-intensive small appliances.
If you’re looking for a more versatile power station, and one that can run more of your home appliances as well as being useful for camping and other mobile uses, this is a good option.
Now that you know a little more about the two power stations I’m working with today, lets look at the features and benefits of these power stations, as well as potential use-cases and why you might need these power stations.
Don’t worry, I’m going to be looking at both power stations individually as well as how they work together and why they offer a more complete power system together rather than on their own.
Features & Benefits

There are a lot of different features and benefits that you should think about when you’re deciding whether these power stations are right for you.
Here are the most important features.
High Power Capacity
Both of these power stations have high power capacity relative to their size, roughly 2x the capacity of the industry standard right now, and 2.5x the capacity of Bluetti’s previous generation of power storage technologies.
The AC2A has about ¼ the power capacity of the larger AC70, but both have plenty of power to work as a power backup for phones and other personal devices.
The AC70’s higher capacity makes it a good option for more regular use since it can go longer between charges. Minimizing how often you have to charge a power station, while still getting good use out of it, is critical for longer lifespans on these machines.
Fast Charging:
The fast charging is a huge benefit for the fast paced lifestyles most people live today. Solar panel charging on both of these machines can happen in as little as 2 hours, with the right solar panel on a sunny day.
Both power stations can charge slightly faster on a regular wall outlet, getting to 80% capacity in as little as 1.5 hours.
Both stations are also compatible with car charging power sources, which means that you have a ton of different charging options for all kinds of different situation and scenarios.
Lifting Power Mode
Both of these power stations have a powerlifting mode that increases the output of power based on high demand. That makes for faster charging on compatible devices and also means that you can use these power stations for appliances and tools that aren’t normally compatible
Long Battery Life
These batteries use the latest technologies for longer durability and to be able to run well for more charge and discharge cycles.
Both power stations will maintain 80% or more of their original capacity at 3,000 or more charges.
High Input Solar Panel Compatibility
One of the challenges of the green energy alternatives market has been that solar panels often don’t offer the high-speed charging of other charging methods.
Both of these power stations are starting to address that problem, with high energy input compatibility, and the increased availability of solar panels that offer higher energy output.
Compatible with Battery Extenders
Both of these power stations also work with Bluetti battery extenders that allow for even more power storage. The AC2A is only compatible with the B80 battery, while the AC70 is compatible with the B80, B230, and B300 batteries.
Lightweight and Mobile

One of the advantages of having a mobile power station like this is that they can come with you when you’re traveling, camping, and doing other more mobile things.
The AC2A is definitely more portable than the AC70 – but since the AC70 is still only around 20 lbs, it’s a good option for people living the van life or who love camping but want more power with them when they do it.
Bluetooth App Control
Smart power control is getting both more common and more necessary when you’re talking about modern appliances and functionality.
With the app, you can control the power and charging functions of both of these power stations remotely, using a Bluetooth connection.

Hello A.Lehky,
This is Tara from BLUETTI marketing, firstly I wanna to express the gratitude for purchasing our power station.
About the solar panel issue, Can you kindly send me an email about the shape of the solar panel you are using? Then we can advise you on which adapter to buy.
Here is my email address: [email protected]
Thanks,
I received mine today and discovered none of my solar panels can plug in to charge it. I went to numerous places trying to find an adapter since I cannot afford more portable solar panels right now. I am very disappointed that no adapters are available so that I can use my portable solar panels. Even camper sales reps couldn’t find an adapter online. Very, very disappointed!
I have contacted Bluetti and asked them for an “official” response here.
