Gordini Windward Gloves Review
As an avid backcountry snowboarder, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of quality gear, especially when it comes to gloves. The Gordini Windward Gloves have truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect, from comfort to durability, making them an indispensable part of my winter gear arsenal.
How Comfortable Are the Gordini Windward Gloves?

First and foremost, these gloves are incredibly comfortable. The moment I slipped them on, I noticed the plush lining that provided a soft, cozy feel against my hands. The pre-curved construction also ensures a natural fit, allowing for effortless movement without any unnecessary bulkiness. The moisture wicking lining does an exceptional job drying out quickly if you have put your damp hands into the gloves.
Warmth

When it comes to braving the elements on the slopes, warmth is paramount. The Gordini Windward gloves deliver exceptional insulation, keeping my hands toasty even on the coldest of days. The GORE-TEX insert provides reliable waterproofing, while the THINDOWN + Sorona insulation traps heat effectively without compromising breathability.
Having a glove that provided excellent warmth was extremely important to me as I suffer from Raynauds, which is a disease that results in poor circulation and blood flow in your hands. The Insulation, along with the wind and waterproofing directed me towards these gloves.
When I first started splitboarding I originally chose heated gloves which I learnt are not a good idea to use while you have a transceiver on due to the interference it creates.
Gordini Windward Dexterity

Despite their impressive warmth, these gloves don’t sacrifice dexterity. I appreciate how I can easily adjust my bindings, grab onto my board, or reach into my pockets without feeling restricted. The articulated fingers and reinforced palm enhance grip and flexibility, ensuring optimal performance on the mountain.
Durability
Splitboarding can be tough on gear, but the Gordini Windward Gloves are built to last. The rugged polyester shell withstands abrasions and tears, while the Synthetic leather palm and thumb offers excellent durability and grip, even in high-wear areas. I’ve put these gloves through their paces, and they’ve held up admirably.
Additional Features

The features on these Gordini Gloves are thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall splitboarding experience. The gauntlet cinch closure seals out snow and cold drafts. The leash is probably one of my favorite features as it provides added security so I never have to worry about losing them on the mountain.
The amount of times I have almost had my gloves fly away while I was changing my skins at the top is very high so the leash is by far my favorite feature. The nose wipe thumb panel is a small but convenient detail, perfect for those chilly chairlift rides if you are using these gloves in a resort setting.
