Zeal Optics is synonymous with goggle and sunglass performance. The Zeal Optics Lookout Goggles takes it to the next level once again.

The Zeal Optics Lookout combines ease of lens changing with a larger field of view to create a great performing goggle in all conditions. The Lookout has a sleek and comfortable fit that feels good to wear all day long and in all conditions.

The way the lens change functions locks your lens is unique and extremely easy to use. The patented Rail Lock system is the answer to quick and easy secure lens swap changes. There are grooved channels on each side of the lens and each side of the goggle frame that fit together perfectly as you slide the lens down onto the frame. The lens is held down onto the frame even more securely with magnets.

The Zeal Lookout Goggles have a huge field of view without being overly cumbersome on the face. Observation Deck Technology is designed so the bottom of the frame sits much closer to your face, creating an angled lens that increases peripheral vision by 20% and blocks direct incoming light, giving you zero reflection on your inner lens.

The pair of Lookout Goggles I tested came with the Polarized Phoenix Mirror Lens (shown in the photos) and additional Sky Blue Mirror Lens.  The option for polarized sunny day lens is great in cutting down glare off the snow, and the low light lens did a great job at picking up differences in snow texture.

The lens on the Zeal Optic Lookout comes with an anti fog coating, a Permasheild hardcoat to prevent scratches and are dual lens technology to prevent condensation and fogging. This goggle has venting on the top and the bottom as well for those hot days or quick hikes. The triple layer foam feels good on the face all day long.

Zeal Optics Lookout Goggle Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Rail Lock System for easy lens changing
  • Huge field of view without being cumbersome
  • Anti-fog coating and scratch prevention on lens

Cons:

  • Can be pricey compared to other options
  • Changing lenses might take some practice

Overall Impression

The Zeal Optics Lookout ($249.99) is going to be my goggle of choice for the coming season. The combination of comfort, field of view and easy lens changes makes this goggle a top choice.
