Rossignol Rallybird Women’s Ski Jacket Review
I brought the Rossignol’s Rallybird Ski Jacket along on a recent tour in the Wasatch. The Rossignol Rallybird is perfect for a day inbounds. Since winter is off to a late start here in Utah, I took the shell for a quick tour and assessed its performance on the downhill. Here are my takeaways:
Optimal Layering

The Rallybird ski jacket is a perfect shell and can be worn comfortably with and without layers. It is constructed with a durable 3-layer fabric that works to protect against the elements. After reaching the top of the skin track a chilly breeze swept through – I stayed comfortable and warm in the Rallybird.
Durable and Waterproof

The 3-layer construction combined with features such as fully taped seams and waterproof zippers contribute to the durable construction of this shell. With a 20,000/15,000 waterproof/breathable membrane I was protected from the elements and did not overheat. Rossignol coated the jacket in a DWR protective layer allowing any precipitation to roll right off.
I have a few heavier duty shells in my arsenal and felt that the Rallybird ranked right in the middle, making it a perfect combination of waterproof and breathable.
Fit and Feel

I am fairly petite and measure in just shy of five feet tall. I wore an extra small jacket and felt that the slightly oversized cut allowed me ample room to layer underneath. I felt unrestricted and was able to move freely. I appreciated the lightweight feel of the shell. It is portable and can be stowed away in a small compartment; in my case this came in handy on the uphill.
Features
Rossignol’s Rallybird Ski Jacket has all the features necessary for a comfortable mountain experience. The jacket comes equipped with both ventilation and an integrated powder skirt which I am sure will come in handy as the season progresses.
In addition to the powder skirt and built-in ventilation, the hood is helmet compatible; I was able to easily secure the hood and experienced no trouble on the way down.
Who is this for?

The Rossignol’s Rallybird Ski jacket is perfect for any skier looking for a lightweight outer layer for days at the resort or a light tour. Since it has a roomy fit, layers such as down jackets can be worn underneath; this makes the jacket suitable for a variety of conditions.
