Session Co. Glizzy Guru Long Sleeve Base Layer Review
When the Session co. Glizzy Guru long sleeve base layer arrived, I have to admit my first impression of the graphic wasn’t great. But I put the shirt through it’s paces over a week of split touring, resort laps and pow surfing.
Conditions ranged from chilly chairlift rides to warm and sunny touring.

Fabric Quality & Fit
If I am being honest I’m a bit of a Merino snob, but I do have several full synthetic base layers to compare to. What stood about this Session Co base layer and a huge credit for staying stink free, I used it 4 days straight without a wash and it remained odor free. Which is rare for touring in the mountains.
Fabric Quality: To the touch, the fabric just doesn’t have the feel of a more premium base layer and with it’s price point of only $65 it’s more reminiscent of low-cost promotional apparel vs something like Le Bent Base Layers which start around $150 .
The material composition (92% polyester/8% spandex) lacks the premium touch found in other brands within the same price bracket. If your a natural material snob this is something you can pass on. For someone wanting fun shirts to wear around town with wild designs we dig these.

Breathability Issues While the technical specs mention a polyester and spandex blend designed for mobility, the real-world breathability is disappointing. Instead of the airy, moisture-wicking experience you’d expect from activewear, the fabric feels clingy. During even moderate activity, heat builds up quickly, leading to a swampy sensation that makes it feel less like a performance garment and more like a standard synthetic shirt that can’t handle sweat, yet has great odor management. So you need to figure out what tradeoff is best for your needs.

Graphic Design The “Glizzy Guru” graphic is loud and unrefined, clashing with the overall intent of the garment. Rather than a clever or stylish nod to the theme, the design feels tacked on and lacks aesthetic appeal, making it difficult to style outside of very specific (and limited) settings.
But hey, I’m just more of a Taco person personally. And this is a new company so throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.
Overall Impression
Overall, I hope this new start up brand will mature their product line, and I wish them luck in the future.
