Never Summer V-Twin Triple Camber Snowboard Review
I got to ride the 2025 Never Summer V-Twin Snowboard at Grand Targhee Resort in foggy spring conditions with a lot of slush and a bit of ice. I used my regular binding/ boot set up of large Union Strata Snowboard Bindings and size 11.5 Adidas Acerras’ on the 160cm model for this day of on snow testing in mixed conditions.
Never Summer V-Twin vs the Never Summer Valhalla

A few years back Never Summer released the “Valhalla”, a directional all mountain charger with a unique tip and tail profile, a splash of taper, triple camber technology, and nice damp ride. It closely resembled the legendary “TwentyFive” series, which was released as a one-off special edition on their 25th anniversary (2017 I believe) and is one of my personal favorite boards ever pressed by the Colorado based snowboard manufacturer.
Now for 2025 they have released a twin version of the Valhalla, appropriately named, “The V- Twin”. It features the Valhala’s build and tail shape, but they have mirrored the tail shape for the nose profile. Due to the fact the Valhala has a notched out, swallowtail-esqe tail shape, this makes for a very unique looking twin tip.
After setting it up with my regular stance of 23 ¾” wide and 1.5” back from center, and my usual but quite directional 24 and -3 binding angles, this twin shape looked even more interesting and unique.
How’s the Board Ride?

My first handful of turns on a VERY foggy/ slushy/ icy run, I noticed remarkable edge hold and a smooth under foot feel. Its a mid flexing deck that borders on soft, but still felt stable and predictable. Side cut is on the tighter side but felt perfect for the length and still let me go fast and lay trenches.
This particular board is a size down from what I’d usually ride (which is a 162 wide) but I find that Never Summer tends to give all their boards a longer than average effective edge so it didn’t feel small. Same with width, I was carving hard and its standard waist width (25.8 cm) worked fine enough for my 11.5 boots.
Triple Camber Profile First Thoughts
If you haven’t tried Never Summers Triple Camber core profile, I recommend getting on one the next time you see some NS demo decks at your local hill or shop. It may not be for everybody, but it is the most unique profile in snowboard design, and it definitely WORKS!
Triple camber has, (you guessed it!) three camber sections built into the NS v-style reverse camber. This is claimed to still give you a forgiving ride and great float, yet perform better flat based and add to edge hold.
To be honest, I mocked it the first time I went to ride one of these Never Summer triple camber profiles, but immediately shut my mouth as soon as I got it on snow. It keeps all the perks of NS’s proven dual camber with top shelf float and playfulness, but lets you feel more stable on edge as well as flatbased, and brings the different sections of the deck together, making it feel predictable and unified the whole length of the board.
V-Twin Shape

The V-Twin definitely shines with this profile. For a true twin, this thing is strong All Mountain Snowboard. For freeriding, the edge hold felt close to a 10 out of 10, so the additional contact points seemed to be doing their job. The long nose/ tail will keep you up in some fluff, and the damp ride will help smooth out any rough or variable terrain.
Freestyle wise, this would excel on backcountry jumps, but would also make a great board for those who want to session the park after ripping the whole mountain. It butters quite well, but I did not hit any rails or boxes, so I have no direct input there. The funky tip shape acts like little handles, so if you’re spinning hard and holding nose/tail grabs through multiple rotations, this board may offer you an advantage there.
What Can Be Improved?

My main gripe of this deck, and I attribute this to the triple camber system, is that the pop points on the Never Summer V-Twin seem to vary and at times are unpredictable. On smooth and predictable takeoffs I had no issues, but I did experience many “ghost pop” moments on side hits and firm natural takeoffs.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
Exceptional Edge Hold and Stability: The review highlights the board’s remarkable edge hold, even in challenging icy and slushy conditions. The triple camber profile contributes to this stability, making it suitable for high-speed carving and aggressive riding.
Versatile Performance: The V-Twin excels in both freestyle and freeride situations. Its design allows for confident jumps, buttering, and carving, making it a suitable “one-board quiver” for many riders. The unique shape aids in both float and maneuverability.
Damp and Smooth Ride: The board’s dampness effectively absorbs vibrations and uneven terrain, resulting in a comfortable ride, even on long freeride days.
Cons:
Unpredictable Pop: The reviewer notes inconsistent pop, particularly on side hits and firm natural takeoffs. This is attributed to the triple camber profile and may be a drawback for riders who prioritize consistent pop for tricks.
Price: While not explicitly stated as a con, the price of $699.99 is relatively high, potentially making it inaccessible to some riders.
Overall Impression

My overall take is the Never Summer V-Twin Snowboard ($699.99) is a top shelf, unique looking, very fun and capable freestyle/ freeride deck. It’s made for the rider who is hitting jumps 60-70% of their time on snow, but who wants a deck that can perform when they feel like ripping the whole mountain or simply laying down carves. The long nose/ tail will help keep you afloat going both directions, and its damp ride will spare your feet on long and pounding freeride days. It’s a great daily driver and for the right person it could be a one board quiver.
