The 10 Best Snowboards for All Mountain Freeriding for 2025
Our 2025 snowboard test took place riding the legendary terrain at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, along with days across the West and even a few days testing in Hakuba Japan. We tested all mountain snowboards in a variety of conditions riding everything from powder, to park, pipe, cliff drops, log featured, rail jibs just about anything one can encounter when riding the entire mountain from top to bottom. It’s one of the reasons I love an all mountain snowboard so much, it can handle the entire mountain and perform at top notch regardless of the terrain. In the past we called these snowboards quiver killers as they can do it all! Hence the name all-mountain snowboard.
With that here are some of my favorite 2025 snowboards I tested in Jackson Hole and resorts across the world.
Note: Mike had been riding Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for the last 15 seasons, before that live in Mt. Baker and spent 10 years in Colorado prior. He hold a Level III avalanche certification the highest in the country and enjoys riding in the backcountry.
Top 10 Snowboards
Ride Moderator
New for 2025 is the Ride Moderator Snowboard, built off the tried and true Ride Deep Fake profile. This all mountain crusher has a mostly camber profiles with rocker at the nose—providing solid performance across the entire mountain from smashing deep powder to ripping hardpack.
Featuring a lightweight Thin Con construction which cuts down on materials without messing up the boards durability, toss in SlimWalls (urethane sidewalls that act as shock absorbers) and strips of Carbon Array 3 which adds responsiveness and precision for quick adjustments even while in the air.
With a sintered stone-ground base (in a tie-dye design) the 2025 Ride Moderator is lightning fast, and is available in ten sizes (144cm-167w). I really dug the boards handling, speed, and ability to handle both aggressive all mountain freeriding, and making effortless turns in powder.
At $599.99, the Ride Moderator Snowboard is sure to sell out and become one of the more popular boards in the Ride Snowboards lineup.

Never Summer Cougar
I had the total pleasure of testing the Never Summer Cougar Snowboard, extensively at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort last season. This Never Summer snowboard was built with high-performance freeriding in mind, designed for aggressive riders. Featuring a whopping triple-camber Recurve profile that delivers solid edge hold and speed. The ability to trust in the edge hold was perfect for added confidence while riding in big mountain terrain.
The board was hand-built in Denver, Colorado featuring a Superlight Wood Core with carbon fiber inlays for added durability and to really allow the board to pop when ollie off things, making it ideal for high-speed runs and sending large airs. The Cougar Snowboard was able to handle deep pow with it’s setback stance, one thing to keep in mind with this board is it’s stiff profile, (7/10 stiffness rating) might be a bit aggressive for lighter riders or those preferring a more playful snowboard feel.
Despite its stiffness, which requires more effort to throw the board around, the Cougar’s performance in steep and deep terrain Was solid and reliable. It provides excellent float and the camber profile throughout the board allows for powerful landings when getting sendy.
The 2025 Never Summer Cougar Snowboard is best for experienced riders comfortable with a stiff flex, riders over 40 will really dig this board, particularly those tackling challenging conditions like those found in Alaska or Silverton, Colorado or Jackson Hole.
With a price of $649.99 you get a hand build board perfect for advanced riders seeking a powerful and durable all-mountain ripper.

Nidecker Escape Plus
Celebrating Nidecker’s 40th anniversary, is the Nidecker Escape Plus Snowboard, another high-performance board built for aggressive all-mountain freeriding. The Escape Plus Version is designed off a full camber profile unlike the rocker-camber blend of the standard Escape Snowboard that has been incredibly popular in the Nidecker lineup.
The Nidecker Escape Plus Snowboard offers insane edge hold, pop, and stability at high speeds, making it ideal for riders who prefer powerful board that is equally at home jumping off cliffs as ripping high speed groomers.
Like to catch air? I do and the PopCarbon Plus stringers will send you flying without much effort or even loading the tail. Toss in TRIAX plus fiberglass layers and wooden top sheet that offers up great response and nimble handling. You can literally ride this board in any conditions, from powder to groomed runs, and even park laps.
The Nidecker Escape Plus worked well in deep powder, making it a great all-mountain option. However, its stiff flex and full camber profile might not be ideal for beginners or riders seeking a more forgiving ride in chopped up snow. Overall it’s one of the best cambered snowboards for strong riders.
At $529.99, Nidecker’s Escape Plus Snowboard is designed for experienced riders who value a quality build snowboard, 40 years of making boards will do that for you.

Ride Warpig
The Ride Warpig snowboard is remarkably responsive and stable, even at shorter lengths, offering impressive float in deep snow. I would never have thought I would enjoy riding a short, fat wide snowboard, especially in the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on a deep storm cycle and boy did the Ride Warpig Snowboard change the way I look at snowboard shapes.
The Warpig from Ride Snowboards is a high-performance board designed for intermediate to advanced riders thanks to it’s award-winning design that allows riders to rip both all-mountain terrain and have just as much fun with freestyle riding.
Ride’s Slim Wall tech, makes it easy to transfer energy back and forth between the board, cut’s down on the overall weight of the board and the best part about the Slimewall is it really absorbs all the chatter that comes up through the board, making it smooth and stable to ride even in uneven snow.
The Ride Warpig is designed around a zero camber profile and medium flex allowing it to be ridden across the entire mountain with ease, this board would be a total ripper snowcat skiing as well. One of the more lively boards to ride thanks to Ride’s use of Aspen, Bamboo, and Paulownia wood throughout.
The Ride Warpig would be a great pick for riders looking for a single board to rip from the start of the season to closing day.

Arbor Candle Rain
Professional snowboarder Pat Moore teamed up with Arbor Snowboards to build a stiff, aggressive board best for experienced riders who like to go fast and rip big mountain terrain. Arbor rates the board 7/10 stiffness rating (although I felt it was closer to a 9/10 in practice) thanks to it’s full camber profile and carbon-reinforced construction.
The board excels at going fast, stomping landing jumping off cliffs while provides epic float on the deepest of days. Best for advanced powerful riders as making quick edge-to-edge transitions may be more difficult for anyone not riding at 110% lighter style.
Arbor’s commitment to sustainability is on display throughout the board with it’s bio-plastic top sheet and recycled materials throughout making it one of the more greener snowboards on this list, though the overall environmental impact of snowboard manufacturing is still not the most eco-friendly.
At $649.95, the Arbor Candle Rain Pat Moore Snowboard is for experienced riders with and aggressive riding style.

Burton Process
The Burton Process Camber snowboard is another high-performance, all-mountain board designed for aggressive snowboarders. Its primarily camber profile, (notice a trend here in the boards in the roundup featuring camber…) featuring a couple flat sections near the tip and tail of the board.
Burton’s Custom Camber snowboard can go fast speed, has great edge bite and is equally at home hitting park jumps, carving groomers, and riding top to bottom freeride terrain making it one of my favorite Burton cambered snowboards to ride.
Another board with a stiffer flex that is great for experienced riders, but maybe too stiff for those just starting out. Mark McMorris helped to design this twin-tip all mountain ripper.
The Burton Process Snowboard is lightweight yet snappy thanks in part to Burton’s Super Fly II 700G core and Dualzone EGD wood, plenty of pop with great response and control.
At $549.95, the Process Camber from Burton Snowboards is a top-of-the-line board for experienced riders that value performance and versatility regardless of what the conditions on the mountain throw. With a hard to beat combination of speed, pop, and control the Burton Process Snowboard is a quiver killer of sort, that can handle just about anything in it’s path.

When riding at top speed the Dualzone EGD wood core combined with a full carbon fiber layer above the base gives the board great torsionally, enabling lightning-fast turns and precise control without much thought or effort. With a directional shape this board wants to go fall-line, rewarding strong riders who can fully utilize the contours of the entire mountain.
The Burton Custom Camber snowboard rips in all conditions from the deepest of powder days, to riding hardpack and crud. Riding at bigger resorts in North America or across the globe? Never Summer Proto Ultra
The 2025 Never Summer Proto Ultra snowboard is a high-performance snowboard designed for riders who demand the ability to ride the entire mountain without any sacrifice while prioritizing and durability and stout construction. With Never Summer’s Recurve Camber Profile the Proto Ultra offers up great float in powder and just as much performance and response riding groomers, essentially making this 2 boards in 1.
The Never Summer Proto Ultra features a Rubber Damping System (RDS2), which cuts down on chatter and vibrations which equals less foot pain when riding over uneven snow, and the Power Grip sidecut maximizes edge hold even on icy days.
Built with a robust construction in Denver, Colorado featuring a Paulonia wood core, birch underfoot and carbon reinforcements make the the Proto Ultra durable and playful all in one. We tested the board across the world, from Japan’s Hakuba Valley to the Teton backcountry, showing how this board can rip just about anywhere.
While its high price point ($699.99) might be a drawback for some, this Never Summer Snowboards performance, durability, and ability to be ridden across the entire mountain make this a serious board to contender for experienced all-mountain riders.

Rossignol Jibsaw
The 2025 Rossignol Jibsaw is a true twin-tip freestyle snowboard board that’s lightning fast to ride, and offers up a ton of fun (wow factor) This Rossignol Snowboard was built for advanced riders, it’s jib friendly, has the ability to hold an edge while carving and I was able to ride on deep powder days by setting the bindings stance back.
With a medium flex (6/10), the Jibsaw provides a nice balance between maneuverability and stability, making it suitable for a variety of riding styles, in fact the flex was the most forgiving of any of the boards in this roundup. When it comes to more aggressive all mountain riding the board is built around an Amptek Elite Rocker profile combines camber between the feet with rocker in the tip and tail. This combo allowed for fun freestyle playfulness.
The Jibsaw’s standout feature though is clearly its serrated edges, boasting a total of seven contact points that increase edge hold. This edge bite was really nice when riding in big mountain icy terrain, and offered great reliability when trenching groomers. While capable for riding on powder days, the Jibsaw’s true twin shape isn’t optimal for deep snow days unless you really put the stance back like I did.
At the end of the day, the Rossignol Jibsaw is best for advanced riders seeking a fast board that’s both responsive, and versatile to ride, although keep in mind it’s aggressive edge bite may be unsuitable for beginners.

Jones Mountain Twin
One of my favorite boards in the Jones Snowboards lineup is the Jones Mountain Twin snowboard is a directional twin-tip snowboard designed to handle the entire mountain. Now when you think of Jones, a twin tip freestyle friendly board may not be the first thing to come to mind.
Featuring a CamRock profile (combining rocker and camber), and short sidecut make throwing around the Jones Mountain Twin really easy, from riding fast, to hitting jibs, dropping off cliffs, you name it this board can easily do it all. Jones is all about sustainable materials like recycled ABS sidewalls, bio resin, and an eco-plastic top-sheet, which shows how much the brands cares about their responsibility in manufacturing.
For 2025, the Mountain Twin from Jones Snowboards received updates including a newly improved base material and a slightly shortened effective edge. I really liked riding the board with it’s blunt nose in powder as it just allows the nose to essentially never catch in deep snow. While the dual-density wood core, Biax fiberglass make the board really easy to ride. It’s like linking up with an old best friend you haven’t seen in years, things click and the do effortlessly.
The Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard is one the best all mountain freeride boards that really likes to jump off things.

Top 10 Snowboards Past Winners
Rome Ravine Select
Sure, the regular Rome Ravine is a great snowboard. But it’s the suped up Rome Ravine Select that makes the list of best snowboards. This powerful piece was crafted for experienced snowboarders that seek out the steepest lines and the deepest powder.
This prime directional specimen features a rockered Diamond 3D nose that lets you effortlessly float the fluff while a cambered tail offers control and pop. Carbon Hot Rods contribute significantly to the responsiveness of this board. Hope you like to go fast, because Rome kitted out the Ravine Select with their fastest base. Speed is only fun if you aren’t getting bucked around by all kinds of chatter and vibrations. That’s why we love the Impact Plates and Flax Walls that devour all those bad vibes so you’re left with nothing but smooth sailing.
Slash ATV
For those that like to unleash a freestyle frenzy all over the whole hill, the Slash ATV snowboard is a worthy steed indeed. A traditional camber profile cranks up the horsepower so you can bomb through technical terrain with surgical precision. As a directional twin with matching tips, you can mess around riding switch, but a slightly set back stance gives you the control to focus in on dissecting those double black diamonds.
Some of the features that stand out when you mount the ATV include the Ultimate Traction Bump, the Diamond Stone Finish, and the Buried Treasure. The first is a very subtle bump in the middle that does not subtle work to enhance edge hold. The second promotes effortless glide and silky smooth turns by eliminating that suction cupping sensation. Finally, the third is a savvy blend of kevlar, carbon and basalt fibers in the core that amps up the strength and lively personality of the board while simultaneously cutting back on unnecessary weight. Get the goods and flash your style anywhere you roam on the Slash ATV.

Burton Custom Camber
What are some of the ingredients for an all-time great all-mountain snowboard? The recipe includes a directional twin shape, a setback stance, and traditional camber. The Burton Custom snowboard checks those boxes and more as it blends elements of power and precision to whip up a truly delectable experience every time you strap in.
The Super Fly II core with Dualzone EGD Fiberglass and carbon highlights makes this snowboard impressively lightweight while maintaining a noticeable liveliness that promotes rapid response and maneuverability. The twin flex pattern is really consistent throughout for a smooth, balanced ride whether you’re charging a natural side hit or laying down some deep carves on the cord in a switch stance. You can always count on Burton to bake a quality product and the Custom is back for another season among the chart toppers.

Bataleon Party Wave
You know that drum solo at the beginning of Wipe Out by the Surfaris? It’s going to be playing in your head every time you mount up with the Bataleon Party Wave. If a dance party met a surf session, this snowboard would be the Big Kahuna. As a freeride/powder board, the Party Wave is intentionally a little shorter and wider so you can float and slash all day long.
This year’s edition joins the list of best snowboards thanks to construction upgrades that have made it lighter and livelier than past models. Improved dampening smooths out the feel even if you happen to point it towards some rougher terrain. A medium flex is forgiving and playful while maintaining stability when you dial up the speed. The Bataleon Party Wave is easily one of the most fun snowboards we have come across this year, and that alone is enough to earn a place among the best since fun is what snowboarding is all about.

CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death
This is no beginner board. But it is a legendary one. The Black Snowboard of Death raises the flag of badassery and waves it with a fervor that only CAPiTA can conjure. This all-mountain freeride machine is engineered to intimidate all types of terrain and leave your buddies stewing in a sea of jealousy.
CAPiTA has been fine-tuning The Black Snowboard of Death for years. They have perfected a blend of primary camber and touches of zero camber and reverse camber in key areas to achieve a potent profile (they call it the Alpine V1 Profile) that provides plenty of pop and power for big hits and deep carves. A directional shape and mid-stiff flex give you the stability and versatility to slay it all. And we’re not the only ones that have noticed how durable this ripper is, even after lots of use. WHITESPACE Freestyle Shaun White Pro
The gnar. You know it? You want to shred it? That’s what the Freestyle Shaun White Pro model from WHITESPACE is all about. But of course that’s what you’d expect when one of the most well-known snowboarders of all time starts a company and puts his name on a board. His pro model was designed with the precision to carve, boost and stomp every piece of the mountain.
We firmly believe that it’s the heart of this board (the core) that gives it the ability to thrive in the park, plow some pow, and destroy a beautiful groomer. The wood core is noticeably lightweight, but it is reinforced with carbon fiber stringers for a snappy feel. This board doesn’t believe in labels like “mens” or “womens” either. It’s gender neutral so everyone can enjoy its excellence.

Cardiff Crane Enduro
Playful performance is the name of the game when you rip with the Cardiff Crane Enduro. The tip and tail are perfectly primed for all kinds of ollies and butters. Designed for those with a bit bigger boot, the NOVERhang feature creates a wider waist that eliminates toe drag without being too bulky.
A HalfCamber profile puts camber underfoot for stability and pop while strategically placing a bit of rocker further out for float in the fluff and catch-free turns. Cardiff offers their hardest and fastest sintered graphite base for a smooth ride and gritty durability no matter what conditions you encounter. We’re also big fans of Cardiff’s Phantom Glide edge tech that delivers premium grip on the hardpack while never sacrificing maneuverability when you’re navigating the soft stuff. Leave the pizza and French fries to the skies while you gobble up sweet lines and tasty times on the Cardiff Crane Enduro snowboard.
Yes. Typo
No need for Grammarly here, the Yes. Typo is one of the best snowboards of 2024. It’s an ideal choice for intermediate riders looking to level up. A rocker/camber/rocker profile is the best of both worlds so you can bust loose in the park or get sendy on some natural features. It has a directional twin shape and medium flex to put you at ease wherever you flash your steeze.
UnderBite edges are a groovy little number that redistributes your weight to make turning all but effortless with maximized edge hold. You won’t find any fancy metallurgy going on in the core. Instead, it’s a tried and true full Poplar core from tip to tail bringing a harmonic balance of consistent flex and trustworthy durability in a lightweight package. Grab the Yes. Jones Mountain Twin
There is no denying this board’s claim to one of top spots. The Jones Mountain Twin is on this list of the best snowboards of the season because of how well it does everything everywhere (nearly all at once). Its versatility truly stands out across all kinds of terrain and snow conditions by blending playful freestyle performance and stability.
The Traction Tech edges provide enhanced control and the CamRock profile beautifully balances powerful pop and cruisy float in the fluff. This directional twin rocks a new, mega-tough sintered 8000 base with a medium-stiff flex rating. Jones stands behind the quality construction of the Mountain Twin with a 3 year warranty. Arbor Element Rocker
If you’re an intermediate rider that is looking for a good time all over the mountain, look no further than the Arbor Element. This model is equipped with the System Rocker, which is all about organic float, a surfy ride, and catch-free turns. But don’t for a second think that means it sacrifices any edge hold. The tapered nature of the rocker allows the Arbor Elements to engage at the edges on demand for more control than you might expect from a medium flexing board as playful as this one.
One of the things that makes this snowboard one of the season’s best is its durability. The pinnacle of this board’s toughness is edges. Made from recycled steel, these edges are a prime example of Arbor’s dedication to quality snowboards built with sustainable materials. So go ahead, get wild with it and know that the Arbor Element is going to keep coming back for more season after season.
What are you ripping on this season? One of our best snowboard picks? Another snowboard we should know about? Let us hear it. Or better yet, let us see it (on our socials). Pics or it didn’t happen!

The mags are pretty darn biased toward advertisers. So I wouldn’t take anything published in the major snowboard mags seriously. They run the pay to play model
What is the name of the shark board
The first board? Its the Orcha

Hey, I see the Ride Warpig made your list; did you also test the MTN Pig? I mostly ride Sugarloaf, ME, which is big and steep by East Coast standards, making fast, aggressive turns ons groomers, but also want something with a little extra float for pow days and getting my freeride fix on the annual trip out West (Big Sky this year!). Currently have a 1st gen Burton Flight Attendant 162, but have come to find it too narrow as I’ve gotten better at, and more enthusiastic about, getting horizontal on edge. From other reviews I’ve read, MTN Pig 160w or 164w seem like good options. Any advice is much appreciated.
