VALLON Heron Mountain Glasses Review: Iconic Style Meets High-Performance Function
The first thing I noticed about the VALLON Heron Mountain Glasses is that every time I wear them, people comment on how cool they look. I constantly get compliments. These glasses have a truly iconic design, and VALLON has built a legendary reputation for making stylish, functional eyewear.
When I opened the box, I was honestly stoked. The glasses feel well made right away, and they even come with a really nice protective case.
VALLON Sunglasses Offer Mountain Protection

One thing I love about the VALLON Heron Mountain Glasses is how versatile they are. You can wear them for almost any activity—hiking, boating, snowboarding, skateboarding—or even just styling at a party. They look great everywhere.
The side shields are awesome when you’re exposed to intense sun, especially in the mountains or on the water. They really help block extra light from the sides (but don’t forget the sunscreen!).

Another great feature is that the temple are adjustable, so you can customize the fit for your own comfort. The arms also hold really well behind the ears, which is super important if you’re active like me. If you’re moving fast or getting a little aggressive during sports, they stay in place and you don’t have to worry about losing them.
The vision quality is excellent, and you can choose between polarized or non-polarized lenses depending on your preference.

The Heron model also comes in several different colors. Personally, I’m a big fan of the black version—it looks clean and classic

Pros & Cons

Pros
-
Iconic Design & Versatility: These glasses offer a legendary look that earns constant compliments and transitions perfectly from high-altitude hiking to casual social events.
-
Secure, Customizable Fit: Featuring adjustable temples and arms that grip well behind the ears, they stay firmly in place even during aggressive movement and high-intensity sports.
The only downside I’ve noticed is that when I’m touring on my splitboard and hiking hard uphill, they can fog up when I get really hot. But honestly, I still haven’t found a pair of glasses that doesn’t do that while climbing a mountain on a splitboard. VALLON does however make a pair of more ski focused pair of shades, find out more in our VALLON Ski Aviators Review.

-
Fogging During High Exertion: Like most high-coverage eyewear, they can experience some fogging during intense uphill activities, such as splitboarding or heavy climbing, when body heat is high.

Super stoked on these glasses and stoked that VALLON is still around making such iconic gear.
