TREW Gear Stella Jacket Review
The TREW Stella 3L Jacket really shined while riding at the resort. It has good waterproofing at 20,000mm and 20,000k brethability rating.
Modern Freeride Fit

With the Modern Freerider Fit TREW is making roomy, comfortable outerwear that people of all shapes and sizes can appreciate. The large hood fit well over my helmet without feeling restrictive. I also loved the high collar zipped all the way up to provide extra protection from the wind. It stayed up even after riding all day. I find some jackets as they get worn/wet have collars that fall down. Luckily the TREW Stella Jacket doesn’t do that.
Plus there’s room to add layers underneath which made riding in the TREW Stella Jacket warm and socy.
Features

The Stella Jacket cuffs are very adjustable and fit over gloves or you can easily cinch them down if you wanted to wear them under your gloves. The removable powder skirt is there when you want it and out of your way when you don’t.
I took the TREW Gear Stella Jacket snowboarding in the backcountry and though it is certainly geared towards resort riding, it performed well with its 20,000mm water proof rating keeping me dry in snow storms. While the pit zip vents were great for hiking in the backountry along with it’s 20k breathability rating.

This jacket would perform well in places that GORE-TEX is normally found, think the PNW.
Overall Impression
I was very impressed with the Stella Jacket. And really loved the Green color and all the other colorways available in the line. One thing to note: Due to its oversized fit, the Stella Jacket doesn’t pack down very small and the hood is definitely designed to be worn with a helmet – these would be the reasons to use this jacket at the resort rather than for backcountry use, but overall it’s a great jacket!
