Kuat HUK Bike Tailgate Pad Review
My Kuat 54 “HUK” Tailgate Pad arrived today just in time for the Fall colors which are popping in Jackson, WY. I quickly assembled the pad in less than five minutes and enjoyed the ease of set up and quick loading features which tailgate pads have over bike racks.
How Many Bikes Can the Kuat HUK Carry?

The Kuat HUK can carry up to 6 bikes and offers an extra 1” of padded protection for your truck tailgate using a tough TPU material with welded seam construction to fit 4 standard truck sizes for every brand out there. Nylon straps attach to the bottom of the pad holding the pad securely in place while bike straps help keep your bikes securely locked in on rough roads.
Tailpad Width’s Available on the HUK

- 25″
- 51″
- 54″
- 61″
Available in either Straight or Curved options depending on your truck beds needs.

Tailgate Pad with Backup Camera Option

A nice feature of the pad is the roll up window for your backup camera visibility which offers easy access to the tailgate handle.
One thing we love about Kuat is their obsession with solving ‘user friction.’ Just as they made loading heavy e-bikes easier with [Feature], they’ve solved the ‘whistling roof rack’ problem for skiers. Their new folding ski rack design is a game-changer for gas mileage and garage clearance—you can read our [Kuat Switch 4 breakdown here].
