The upgraded Himiway A7 Pro for 2025 offers an upgrade in power and performance thanks to the innovative ability to switch between the sensors on this 900W E-Bike.

Providing all the power is an impressive 900W brushless motor. While the previous Pro model (we reviewed below) featured a mid-drive e-bike motor, the new A7 from Himiway Bike embraces a powerful rear hub motor.

What truly sets it apart is the user-switchable torque and cadence sensor. This epic feature allows riders to toggle between a natural, intuitive assist that responds to pedal effort (torque sensor) and a more consistent power output regardless of pedaling force (cadence sensor). This adaptability is a significant advantage in rideability and the amount of exsersion required to ride this bike. It basically allows riders to tailor the assist modes to their specific riding style or even based on terrain needs (think going up hills). Whether you prefer a responsive, engaged ride or a more relaxed, consistent push, the A7 delivers.

The A7 offers multiple pedal assist modes and a right-hand thumb throttle, along with a useful walk mode for easy maneuvering off the bike. The ability to fine-tune the motor’s engagement via the switchable sensor ensures an optimized riding experience, whether you’re climbing hills or cruising flats.

Battery and Range Extended with LG Power

The Himiway A7 Pro E-Bike is built with a high-capacity LG battery, rated for an impressive 80 miles on a single charge. This significant range ensures that even longer commutes or extended recreational rides are well within reach. Keep in mind most people will never ride anywhere near 80 miles on a single charge, it’s sort of hard to sit on a bike seat/saddle for that long.

The integrated design of the LG Battery within the frame not only looks sleek but also protects it from the elements. The battery also powers the integrated headlight and automatic brake light, essential for city riding visibility and safety.

How’s The Bike Ride?

Man Cruising on E-Bike

The Himiway A7 Pro has a top speed *(when unlocked of 28MPH) which is amazing when zipping around in the city. What I really liked was how well the bike handled like a traditional bicycle thanks to the wheel sizing of the Kenda Tires of 27.5*2.4″. This was a bit thinner than some of the other e-bike tires we ride and with that comes a much better overall ride quality.

Speaking of the ride quality, with the extended battery range Himiway opted for a high end seat/saddle in the Selle Royal A050UR0 which are designed and built in Italy. This just shows the Himiway is a bike brand interested in making the best bikes vs a traditional e-bike brand looking for quick money in this growing industry.

The recommended height of the Himiway A7 Pro E-Bike in the step through version has a range of 5’3″ to 6’1″ making this electric bicycle accessible to a broad range of riders.

The Himiway A7 is outfitted with smart components designed to enhance your daily ride. Hydraulic brakes from Shimano provide powerful and reliable stopping power in all conditions, a crucial feature for a bike of this capability. The Kenda tires are added for durability and grip on various surfaces, from smooth pavement to light gravel. Integrated tail and headlights further enhance safety for city riding, ensuring you’re seen day or night.

Himiway opted for the left hand thumb throttle with a new controller to toggle between modes and an easy to read LCD screen in the center of the bike.

One of the standout features of this bike is on the build side vs tech. Himiway Added a roboust handle in the back under the seat for moving the bike around. With a weight of 72lbs. moving this bike around ain’t the easiest, that was until Himiway added in the handle on the back under the seat. A must have for all heavier e-bikes.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Versatile Riding Experience: The unique user-switchable torque and cadence sensor allows riders to customize their assist level based on terrain and preference, offering a natural feel for engaged riding or consistent power for a more relaxed experience. This enhances rideability and reduces exertion.

  • Extended Range and Quality Components: With an LG battery providing an impressive 80-mile range and high-quality components like Shimano hydraulic brakes, Kenda tires, and a Selle Royal saddle, the bike offers reliability, safety, and comfort for long rides and various terrains.

Cons:

  • Heavy Weight: At 72 lbs, the bike is quite heavy, which could make it challenging to maneuver or transport without the assistance of its integrated handle.

  • Rear Hub Motor vs. Mid-Drive (Subjective): While powerful, the shift from a mid-drive motor in the previous Pro model to a rear hub motor in the new A7 might be seen as a con by some riders who prefer the more balanced weight distribution and natural feel often associated with mid-drive systems, especially for serious off-road riding.

With the ability to switch between sensors, an impressive battery range, smooth ride, Kenda Tires and Shimano Components, the A7 Pro Offers a reliable bike that can handle a ton of terrain. From riding in the city streets, to dirt, gravel and just about everything in-between the Himiway A7 Pro E-Bike ($1,799) for 2025 really is a stand out bike of the season. And easily one of the top 2-3 E-Bike I have reviewed out of almost 100 reviews.

Mountain Weekly News Founder Mike Hardaker Talks About the Himiway A7 Pro E-Bike

The Himiway A7 Pro is a “Beast Mode” Commuter

The A7 Pro isn’t simply an ebike you can use around town, it’s specifically designed for the unique needs of dedicated cyclist commuters. The best commuter bikes provide the ideal combination of efficiency and luxury— we want to get to work quickly and comfortably— and the A7 Pro boasts some serious urban performance.

The main highlights of this Class 3 ebike (which ships as Class 2) include the full suspension setup and a 500W mid-drive motor that reaches a top speed of 28 mph. The step-thru design facilitates quickly hopping on and off in the city and comes in five attractive frame colors— we rode the Emerald Green model with its stylish mirror-finish “Himiway” lettering along the downtube.

We were pleasantly surprised by the color display built into the stem, offering a super clean aesthetic along with the cables routed through inside the stem. This is an innovative trick other tech-savvy brands like Fiido have done in the past and we think it’ll continue to catch on. Currently priced at $2,399, the A7 Pro is outfitted with smart components and tech that make it a worthwhile deal for dedicated commuters and recreational riders looking for a mid-drive model.

Himiway A7 Pro Suspension

The A7 Pro stands out among other commuter ebikes in part because it has a rear shock in addition to its front suspension fork. This full-suspension setup effectively smoothes out potholes and can even take on rugged terrain like light gravel or dirt tracks. The SR Suntour X1 fork provides 120mm of travel and the rear shock is cleanly tucked within the seat tube as part of the 4-bar linkage suspension system. The air springs are easily adjustable and the fork has lockout. We enjoyed the responsive shock absorption that is perfect for comfortable commuting and can confidently take on even bumpier terrains.

Himiway A7 Pro Top Speed

Capable of Class 3 speeds, the Himiway A7 Pro assists up to 28 mph and maxes out at 20 mph on throttle mode. Providing all that pace is the Anando M100 500W mid-drive motor equipped with a torque sensor, a huge upgrade compared to rear hub motors when it comes to natural-feeling assistance. We noticed that the motor takes a second to engage due to the torque sensor, but the bike is smooth and responsive once pedaling. One downside is that the right side of the handlebar is quite crowded with the throttle, trigger shifter, and bell— we would have preferred the throttle placed on the left.

The 5 Pedal Assist Levels Are Great for Commuting or Just Having Fun With This Smooth Pedaling E-Bike | Photo Connor Burkesmith Mountain Weekly News

There are 5 pedal assist modes and a right-hand thumb throttle as well as a useful walk mode. To get the most out of the torque sensor, it’s important to pedal in the correct gear for the ideal cadence and power output from the motor. We reached the top 28 mph speed actually going slightly uphill as the sensor noticed we were putting in more effort and delivered its maximum assistance— I like that kind of fine-tuned performance that isn’t simply trying to always provide the most power at all times.

Battery

Hidden underneath the chrome lettering along the downtube is the 15Ah Samsung battery pack that’s rated for up to 50 miles on a single charge. Our tests confirmed that the A7 Pro can reach close to those numbers on low assist levels, but you can expect a bit less when relying on the throttle only. The battery also powers the large headlight and automatic brake light that’s cleanly integrated into the rear rack.

How Much Does the Himiway A7 Pro Weigh?

The ebike weighs 77 lbs. with an overall weight capacity of 300 lbs. The updated rear rack is rated to support up to 55 lbs. but I’d say it can handle a bit more. That sturdy rear end is perfect for cruising around town picking up groceries, heading to the farmers’ market, and hauling items to picnics. The rack comes with bungee cords with a custom clip design and is compatible with MIK accessories if you want to add functionality to the rack.

Himiway Mid Drive Motor

The mid-drive motor’s central placement along the bike also provides a more balanced weight distribution compared to back-heavy rear hub motors. The A7 Pro’s overall ride position is upright and comfortable— the steeper headtube angle helps with easy maneuverability for smooth commuting and bike path riding. The adjustable stem is another nice touch to narrow in on your ideal bike fit.

Components

Himiway Seat Dropper
The Seat Dropper is Controlled Via A Handle Under the Seat Which Makes for Easy Adjustment’s Up or Down Depending on Riders Height | Photo Connor Burkesmith Mountain Weekly News

Commuter ebikes tease some of the most innovative components out there to elevate your daily ride in small but meaningful ways, and the A7 Pro boasts plenty of creative tech. The seat is easily adjustable via a hydraulic dropper lever underneath the saddle that feels like it has a bit of suspension built-in. The ebike fits riders between 5’5 and 6’5 and could accommodate smaller riders if you swap out for a normal seat post.

One of the coolest features is the integrated ABUS wheel lock on the rear wheel— perfect for cafe stops and works with ABUS chains for more comprehensive security. There’s Shimano Alivio 9-speed gearing with high-quality Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes that are a cut above many rival ebikes. Locking ergonomic grips and durable, metal fenders around the 27.5 x 2.4” wheels are also solid additions for a commuter model.

Himiway A7 Pro E-Bike Pros:

  • Full Suspension: Provides a comfortable ride and can handle light off-road terrain.
  • Mid-Drive Motor: Provides a more natural-feeling assist compared to hub motors.
  • Torque Sensor: Adjusts power output based on how hard you pedal.

  • Limited Range: Up to 50 miles on a single charge (may be less with throttle use).
  • Not Ideal for Smaller Riders: Stock seat post may be too tall.

The well-designed Himiway A7 Pro ($2,399) immediately reminded me of the modern commuter ebikes that are popular in Belgium and the Netherlands these days. They are much slimmer than fat tire ebikes and come with reliable mid-drive motors for a more natural-feeling boost, along with handy touches for commuting like a rear rack, wheel lock, and fenders. If you’re looking for a more premium city-rated model, this versatile style of ebike has proven itself on the streets of some of the most bike-friendly places on Earth— now it’s time to hop on the A7 Pro Electric Commuter Bike and enjoy your local commute!
