ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station Review
While full-sized generators are definitely an option, they can be quite bulky and difficult to operate. That’s where the ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station comes in. This impressive little device packs a powerful punch in a compact, user-friendly package. In this review, I will take a closer look at all that the ALLPOWERS R1500 has to offer — from its performance and versatility to its portability and safety details. Let’s get started!
Unmatched Power

The ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station isn’t just your typical power source. It combines the best features of traditional generators and modern power stations into one versatile, powerful device. When it comes to performance, durability, and advanced battery technology, the R1500 really shines. I’ll be going over all of its features in detail during this review, so don’t go anywhere!
With eleven ports, the R1500 can charge all of your devices at once. It has four pure sine wave AC outputs (110V 1800W, peak 3000W), two 100W USB-C ports, two 18W USB-A fast charging ports, two 15W wireless chargers, and a car cigarette lighter (12V/10A). Its large 1152Wh capacity allows it to keep several devices running for a long time. This means that it’s a must-have for off-grid situations (like camping).
The R1500 also boasts impressive longevity, thanks to its built-in LiFePO4 battery. It maintains over 80% capacity after 3500 charge cycles and 50% after 6500 cycles, which translates to more than 10 years of daily use. Its advanced Battery Management System (BMS) monitors voltage, current, and temperature — so it’s quite safe to operate under any conditions.
ALLPOWERS R1500 Performance
The ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station includes plenty of features that are designed to perform under tough conditions. When I put it to the test, its capabilities really shone through, especially regarding its efficient and powerful charging options. One of its best features is its 650W solar fast charging capability. With an integrated MPPT charge controller, the R1500 can take in up to 650W of solar input. Even more impressive is its ability to charge from 0-80% in just 40 minutes using a 1500W max input.
That’s not all, though — the R1500’s performance is improved even further by its dependable energy source and scalable battery power. The semi-solid state design of the battery not only improves safety but also extends its lifespan. With a guarantee of 3,000 charge cycles, it can last up to 25 years with typical use, or 10 full years of daily use. In other words, it basically pays for itself over time!
ALLPOWERS R1500 Versatility
Unboxing the ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station might take a bit of effort due to its compact shape and recessed side handles. A useful trick is to turn the box upside down and gently shake it to slide the power station out. Once it’s out, you’ll appreciate how compact and easy to transport it is.
The R1500 features a sleek gray-black color scheme and weighs 16.7 kg, with dimensions of 41.3 × 31.2 × 26.5 cm. Its square design makes it quite practical for transportation and storage. You can easily fit it in your trunk along with other luggage (or even a crate of beer) for a weekend trip with your buddies. Its rubber-coated feet are non-slip, so you can rest assured that it’ll stay put.
ALLPOWERS has cleverly hidden the side handles, so the unit has a stylish, understated look to it. The front panel features eleven versatile connections:
- 4x 230V AC sockets
- 2x 100W USB-C ports
- 2x 18W USB-A ports
- 2x 15W wireless charging pads
- 1x cigarette lighter
While most of these ports are exposed for easy access, the AC output and cigarette lighter ports have covers to keep out dirt and moisture.
On the right side, you’ll find two charging options: you can connect the R1500 to your home network or recharge it via solar power. These connections are protected from the elements by a push-to-open cover. The left side houses two battery connections and ventilation slots (though it lacks an earth port).

It’s also worth mentioning that the top of the R1500 features two wireless charging pads.
ALLPOWERS R1500 Portability
The ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station combines impressive power with exceptional portability. As mentioned previously, it features eleven ports, including 4 pure sine wave AC outputs (110V 1800W, peak 3000W), 2 USB-C (100W each), 2 USB-A (18W each), 2 wireless chargers (15W each), and a car cigarette lighter (12V/10A). With its large 1152Wh capacity, it can keep all sorts of devices running for long periods of time — even when you’re off the grid.
Despite its robust power, the R1500 is remarkably portable. It weighs just 16.7 kg (about 37 pounds), and is super easy to transport. Its compact dimensions (41.3 × 31.2 × 26.5 cm) make it easy to store and haul as well. The R1500’s design maximizes portability without sacrificing power. It’s about 20% smaller than other portable power stations with similar capacities. Its hidden side handles and rubber-coated feet make it even more user-friendly and easy to transport.
ALLPOWERS R1500 Battery Performance

The ALLPOWERS R1500 portable power station impressed me with its battery performance (its efficiency rate is about 83%). It consistently achieved its maximum output power of 1,800 W every time I tested it. Throughout a complete charging cycle, the R1500 consumes 1,183 Wh, leaving up to 906 Wh available for use. Charging the LiFePO4 battery to 80% capacity takes just 45 minutes, as promised by ALLPOWERS.
However, the charging process takes an unexpected turn beyond 80% battery level. While charging up to 80%, the R1500 maintains a steady input power of 1,500 W. Beyond this point, an overheating warning triggers the power station to throttle the input power to 515 W for safety reasons.
Although throttling during charging beyond 80% is quite common, the overheating warning was a surprise. It’s not a bad thing, necessarily — just something to be aware of. Alternatively, users can charge the R1500 off-grid using a compatible solar panel. After all, the available XT60 port is capable of handling up to 650 W of solar power.
With an output power of 1,800 W, the R1500 competes effectively with other models in its class. It also has a unique discharging feature: it automatically shuts off at just 5% remaining capacity in order to protect the battery. Although this is a standard procedure, manufacturers typically calibrate the battery display to show 5% remaining capacity as zero percent.
ALLPOWERS App Functionality
Operating the ALLPOWERS R1500 is pretty easy thanks to its intuitive button controls for the AC and DC power supply. Those who prefer remote management or detailed monitoring, however, may want to use the ALLPOWERS app. The app’s sleek interface and smart display will provide you with important information about your power station. However, it does come with a couple of downsides. For example, when connected via Bluetooth, the device isn’t saved in the app. The app’s settings options are also quite minimal, and this will, unfortunately, limit your control over the power station’s functions.
You should try to keep in mind that the emphasis of the ALLPOWERS app is more on monitoring than control. Setting it up is straightforward, and you can choose between a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. Adding the R1500 via Bluetooth can be a bit tedious, so I’d recommend going the Wi-Fi route. If you run into difficulties while trying to find the power station in the app during setup, simply hold down the DC button to activate the R1500’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pairing mode.
Once it’s connected, you’ll notice that the app’s interface is quite clean and simple. Here, you’ll be able to select the charging mode and control the AC and DC power supply. The main menu displays battery status, input, and output power, while additional settings allow you to adjust the charging mode. Despite a few quirks, the ALLPOWERS app serves its purpose adequately for monitoring and basic control of the R1500 portable power station. Being aware of these quirks should help you manage them more effectively, anyway!
Safety Features

Safety is a major priority when it comes to portable power stations, and the ALLPOWERS R1500 doesn’t skimp on safety features. Unlike older models that might come with fire risks, the R1500 uses a built-in LiFePO4 battery — which is designed to keep usage of this portable power station as safe as possible. This type of battery is known for its long lifespan. It can keep over 80% capacity even after 3500 charging cycles and (50% after 6500 cycles). As mentioned before, this means that you can rely on the R1500 for more than a decade if you charge and discharge it daily.
As previously mentioned, the R1500’s design also helps reduce fire risks compared to other portable power stations. Instead of using risky Li-NMC batteries, it uses a gel electrolyte battery power system instead. This design choice provides stable and secure power delivery, and lowers the chances of the portable power station bursting into flames (not that it would in the first place). To put it plainly, you won’t have to worry about staying safe when it comes to using the ALLPOWERS R1500 — this device is specifically designed with safety in mind!

Overall Impression
Overall, the ALLPOWERS R1500 Portable Power Station ($499.99) impresses in many aspects, although there are a few areas where it could improve, particularly in terms of software support. While the ALLPOWERS app offers basic settings and monitoring features, it lacks the depth and control found in some other apps. However, if your primary need is monitoring rather than controlling the power station, the app still serves its purpose.
With an output power of 1,800 W and an efficiency rate of 83%, the R1500 stands out as a fantastic choice among high-performance power stations in the 1 kWh class. Whether you’re using it at home or on a camping trip with your friends, the design of the ALLPOWERS R1500 portable power station is quite sturdy (although it lacks an integrated cable compartment). It’s definitely worth the investment!
