The people from Njoie must have known that I would be sore and broken this spring when they came out with the BodyFlex Trigger Point Massage Tool. This bar is a magical muscle miracle, built to hit all your overworked trigger-points with its strategic knobs. This Lego-like bar might look like a Medieval torture device but it’s a legit remedy for all that ails you.

The BodyFlex is a plastic 4-piece massage bar. The curved end pieces can be taken off and repositioned on the solid piece to reach your back, parts of your neck, and all those other hard-to-reach spaces. With 11 detachable knobs, you can do everything from loosen your shoulders to crack your back. Plus there’s another part which can be linked to the curved end-pieces or used independently. This removable mid-section has little grooved rollers to become one big muscle roller bar.

And the three built-in metal knobs give a little more something. Plus the attached BodyFlex hook can be connected with one of Njoie’s vibrating massage balls to kick the healing up to another level.

So next I tried it out.

To start, I watched a few videos about how to use this cane properly. The first thing I checked out was aligning it like a “C” and pushing two prongs into the fleshy parts of my lower back. I dug them into the muscles, then pushed real hard and got a lower-back crack. Instant relief. Kept working it.

I rotated the curved endpieces so it looked kinds like an “S,” then put it over my shoulder like some wild shepherd’s crook and rolled it around. After some trying I managed to find that spot on my shoulder blades where all the tension sits. Then I lifted it up to loosen the part of my neck I injured in jiu jitsu. This Njoie BodyFlex was made for those hard-to-reach muscular terrorists.

Finally I set the roller bar to work on my newly-healed, rehabbing calf. I rubbed out the large, hard achilles, and on the sore calves from rebuilding my right leg. It’s still the only self-administered home relief I could get. As I’ve kicked my physical recovery into high gear, Njoie’s BodyFlex has been a necessary part of the recuperation.
