Dometic GO Camp Chair Review

If you’ve been around the overland, van life crowd at all your most likely familiar with the brand Dometic. So when we had the chance to try out some of the Dometic GO Compact Camp Chair we get pumped, knowing this wouldn’t be your average run of the mill camping chair.

About Dometic

Dometic is the industry leader in keeping things cold and cool in your rv or camper van. Founder in the 1950’s their parent company knows a thing or two about refrigerator’s especially ones for use in recreational vehicles. For this review we tested one of their non refrigerator / ac items and opted for the Dometic GO Compact Camp Chair instead as not everyone has a recreational rig for transporting electric coolers, but everyone can use a solid camp chair.

What Makes This Chair Unique?

The first thing that stands out about the Dometic GO Compact Camp Chair is how sturdy and well built the thing is. This is not a flimsy camp chair that you toss in the back of your pickup and leave all summer long.

With 280 lbs. of weight capacity most everyone in your family should be able to enjoy this chair, and if you have kids that like to crawl on you too or even dogs the sturdy build is well suited for littles ones too.

The only tradeoff with a sturdy camp chair able to safely hold hundreds of pounds comes like this one from Dometic is the weight of the chair, coming in just shy of 10 lbs.  Which will most likely be the only gripe you have about this chair if carrying it a long distance. That being said Dometic provided a nice carrying bag that makes transporting the Go Compact Chair that much easier.

Comfortable Portable Seating

Along with being sturdy, the Dometic GO Compact Camp Chair is pretty darn comfortable too thanks to the use of heavy-duty 600D fabric, which almost feels like canvas acting as a waterproof and durable backer. Plus it has a supportive full size seat.

The arms are made of beachwood which add a nice classic look and feel to the chair.

When it comes time to pack up the chair it easily folds together and slides inside the bag for transporting.

Overall Impression

Maybe your looking for a camp chair to take with you car camping if so the Dometic GO Compact Camp Chair ($149.99) is a great option for someone looking for durable, reliable and comfortable chair. However these chairs look really nice at home too and would not look out of place in a backyard patio or for your next bbq.
