Baist Snowboard Mitten

Baist Everyday Mitt

First up on this list and perhaps on the better snowboard mittens I have ever used comes from a new brand out of Vermont called Baist. The Baist Everyday Mitt was developed by the founder Ace due to a hand condition he has called Raynaud’s which essentially = cold hands all the time. So he set out to build a set of gloves to continue his main passion in life, skiing.

Fast forward to the Baist Everyday Mitt and you have a goat skin leather mitten that is built around a layering system. You get a high quality glove that’s essentially guaranteed to keep your fingers warm. Pro tip from Ace the founder himself, don’t expose your fingers to the cold, ever! Baist also offers nice next to skin liners for added layering in their system.

Hestra Snowboard Mitten in Purple

Hestra Fall Line Mitt

The mitten I found myself most often rocking often while riding this season was the Hestra Fall Line Mitt. Perhaps it was the Bordeaux colorway in the cowhide leather I got that seems to match any color of jacket / pants combo I can throw at it. But style aside these mittens are from Hestra who has a whopping 87 years of experiences in manufacturing.

The Hestra Fall Line Mitts are warm and durable and do best in colder drier climates. If it get’s wet the leather on these gloves tends too as well. Even with a wet outer layer my fingers never got wet, so perhaps it more of a visual thing with the way the drum dried leather performs. These are some of the softest snowboard mittens I have ever used.

Dakine Baron Snowboard Mitte Camo

Dakine Baron GORE-TEX Mitt

On the polar opposite spectrum of the Hestra Gloves above comes the Dakine Titan GORE-TEX Mitt.  This Dakine snowboard mitten is built with the GORE-TEX GORE GRIP Technology making it extremely well suited for skiing and riding in wet conditions.  The GORE GRIP takes the loose layers in the glove and bonds them together for better dexterity.

And thanks to PrimaLoft Gold insulation on the inside, and cozy wool the Dakine Titan GORE-TEX Mitt is extremely warm and is great on really cold days. If you plan on hiking a bunch you may find this mitten to be a bit on the warm side and I would recommend bringing along a pair of gloves for the up and then rock these Dakine Snowboard Mittens on the way down.

Flylow Snowboard Mittens

Flylow Unicorn Mitt

The Flylow Unicorn Mitt is the simplest mitt on this roundup of best snowboard mittens.  If they look familiar, they should be as the design is based of Kinco Mittens using Pigskin leather for a classic tried and true and extremely durable look and feel.

If you look at what your local ski patrollers are wearing there’s a good chance you’ll see these gloves or something very similar from the parent brand Kinco. And thanks to the stretch fit cuff you can rock the Flywlow Unicorn Mittens over or under your jacket while keeping snow away from your hands.  With a five finger design you can wear mitten that performs like a glove without breaking the bank.
