Rossignol Jibsaw Snowboard Review

It has been over 5 years since we last reviewed the Rossignol Jibsaw Snowboard and gosh have we been missing out on just how fun, fast and progressive this snowboard shape is.  For someone that likes to jib, go lightning fast and hit every feature they can find along with riding some powder so just about basically everything you could ever want to to do on a snowboard and boom you get a feeling for what the Rossignol Jibsaw is truly all about.

Specs & Construction

As the name implies the Rossignol Jibsaw is a true twin tip freestyle snowboard that can easily be ridden switch, is fun to spin and a blast to jib on.  Even when it came to riding powder I simply moved the bindings back and this board performed the way I would expect a true twin tip snowboard to perform. It did what I wanted it to do without much thinking.

The flex rating is about 6 out of 10 meaning it’s soft enough to jib and easy to butter around the mountain.

Amptek Elite Rocker

What’s interesting about the boards profile being built around the Amptek Elite Rocker design is it’s actually mostly a cambered snowboard vs what the name implies. The board features camber between your feet and then rocker at the tip and tail. This blend seems to be the one that works best for basically every level of riding.

You get the bite and edge hold of camber with the float and fresstyle fun of a rocker or reverse camber snowboard.

Serrated Edges

Where this board really shines and which might be a bit of overkill for your average rider is its use of serrated edges. There are 7 different edge contact points that connect with the snow when riding. For the park and pipe crew or anyone that really enjoys laying a board on edge this technology shines. As does it for someone riding in technical terrain that needs a committed edge hold.

There are 3 serrated edges between the binding inserts and two on each opposite side of this true twin tip snowboard. So even when riding switch the board is extremely reliable.

Target Rider Level

Advanced progressive snowboarders will love the Rossignol Jibasw. Those just starting out on a board not so much as when that Serrated Edge Technology locks in it really locks in.  Combined with how fast this board goes and it’s overall intended use. Advanced and expert shredders that spend time lapping the park will surely dig how this board performs from top to bottom.

If you plan to ride powder all day and want a true twin shape this board would also work but you may want to consider other boards for really deep days.

• Pros: Incredibly Fast Snowboard with Lots of Edge Contact
• Cons: Might be a bit to aggressive for your everyday snowboarder, softer flex could use a little bit stiffer core.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

• Versatility: The Rossignol Jibsaw is a true twin-tip board with a medium flex, making it suitable for a variety of riding styles including jibbing, carving, riding powder (with setback bindings), and all-mountain riding.
• Fast and maneuverable: The board’s Amptek Elite Rocker profile with camber between the feet and rocker in the tip/tail provides good edge hold for fast riding and carving, while also allowing for easy turning and maneuverability.
• Great edge hold (for advanced riders): The serrated edges with multiple contact points provide excellent edge hold on hard snow and icy conditions, ideal for advanced riders who like to carve and perform aggressive maneuvers.

Cons:

• Less forgiving for beginners: The medium flex and serrated edges may be too aggressive for beginner riders who are still learning to control their boards.
• Not ideal for deep powder: While the board can handle some powder with setback bindings, the true twin shape may not be the best choice for those who primarily ride deep snow conditions.

Verdict

Are you looking to upgrade your shredstick for the 2024 season. Looking for something that’s designed aroyund jibbing (heck check the name) if so the Rossignol Jibsaw Snowboard ($599.99) offers a lightweight, progressive fast and fun snowboard to ride.  It’s one of the boards you can easily ride throughout the entire season and possibly for years to come.
