There are sunglasses for enjoying the outdoors and there are real outdoors sunglasses like the Bajio Stiltsvilles. Bajio was founded in New Smyrna by two adventurers who saw a different way of doing things in the outdoor world. Specifically, they wanted to make the best sunglasses, with the best materials, all here in the US of A.

Who Are these Bajio Sunglasses For?

There are few sunglasses better prepared for playing around the water. Their lenses can see into the creek and the river, and their frames are sturdier than an armor-plated Hummer. Plus the materials are as sustainable as they can be, and the company drops donations and uses its platform to advocate for the organizations and issues they feel are important.

This is the finest gear, made by some of the finest people in the whole world. These are the Bajio Stiltsvilles.

100% UV Protection

The Bajio Stiltsvilles aren’t named after storks; they’re named about a real OG offshore fishing and drinking club in Florida. These glasses were made for fishing but also for having a good time. The frames are super durable so they won’t break if they fall on the dock, and they’re XL for us big-headed folks. Though they won’t fall given the rubber nose pads. The narrow temples and two-way flex hinges, though, make for added comfort.

The lenses, though, are where the magic really begins. Lapis technology blocks 95% of blue light. Plus they block 90% of harsh yellow light, as well as 100% of UV light. Literally everything that can mess up your vision and damage your eyes.

These are just numbers, facts. How do they actually perform?

Fishing Sunglasses

Cheating? Or Being Able to Really See the Fish, Bajio Makes Fishing That Much Simpler | Photo Mountain Weekly News

Good fishing sunglasses block out the sun, especially the sun reflecting off the water into your eyes, but help you to see fish. These Stiltsvilles do just that. Fishing in a local creek, I could see bottom easily. Even in the river, muddy brown from runoff, I could see the riverbed relatively clearly, compared to how it coulda been

These have quickly become my favorite glasses in general. I’ve worn them on a lot of sunny days coaching kids on big bright fields. I wear them driving, when that mountain glare is almost blinding normally. They’ve gotten stuffed into packs and jackets and come up without scratches or getting crushed.

I can only come to one conclusion: Bajio, a pup who only entered the sunglass game in 2021, is the real deal.

Bajio Stiltsville Sunglasses Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Sturdy frames ideal for water activities
  • Superior UV protection for eye safety
  • Enhanced vision for fishing and outdoor activities

Cons:

  • Not budget-friendly ($259.99)
  • May be too flashy for some
  • Non-adjustable nose pads

Overall Impression

That could be Bajio’s motto in general. Whether you’re talking about their fundraising for Captains for Clean Water of their eco-friendly shipping, or Bajio’s lenses’ ability to see the fish swimming they’re all about enhancing what’s good. And their technology blocks harmful sun rays while, again, their campaigns and business practices are all about preventing the destruction of clean places, especially clean waters, from getting destroyed.

These Bajio Stiltsville Glasses are named after a legendary prohibition-era club built in the water in Biscayne Bay. So they’re epic fishing glasses made with a look that shows you like to party when the fish aren’t biting.
