A dedicated gear tester, Mike spends his summers evaluating e-bikes, hunting equipment, and backpacking gear, transitioning to winter sports gear reviews, including splitboards and snowboards and avalanche snow safety equipment during the colder SNOWY winter months.

Ryan Ariano has been writing professionally for 20 years but he’s been snowboarding, traveling, and exploring much longer. His winters spent skiing Icelandic volcanoes, snowboarding the Japanese alps, and touring Teton high peaks have earned him a reputation for being tough on gear. In the summer, you can find him climbing routes above his pay grade, fishing the Golden Triangle, and running mountain trails. Somewhere in there he finds time to write about it.

Rémy Rossi is a bike writer, mechanic, and educator who got his start in community-based bike shops and co-ops. With a decade in the industry, he still wrenches on bikes when he can and is regularly contributing to popular cycling publications.

Based out of the part of New York that's only technically not New England, Jim has been writing about outdoor gear for over a decade and using it for nearly three. An avid snowboarder and cyclist, he also enjoys camping, hiking, wheeling in his 4Runner and being not particularly good at climbing. When forced to be inside he enjoys playing bass, watching soccer, and reading books about tall ships.

Max has been skiing and riding peaks in the Teton region longer than most. Always outspoken and to the point when it comes to gear and life in general. Max can be found surfing the Snake River in the summer months and exploring the Teton Backcountry when the snow flies.

Originally from Maine, Adam’s enthusiasm for skiing and biking led him to Jackson where he coaches for the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club as well as Mountain Bike The Tetons. After years of creating gear comparison spreadsheets for himself and friends, Adam is stoked to join the Mountain Weekly News crew.

Brittany is a fitness expert and natural health enthusiast based out of sunny Arizona. A certified first responder, lifeguard, group fitness instructor and yoga trainer, Brittany has also worked as a professional writer with a focus on natural health for over 8 years.

Andrew is an avid outdoorsman who is always in pursuit of a good time. You can find him biking, climbing, skiing, hunting and camping and just about anything else one does outside. Other than playing outside Andrew spends time with his wife and owns a business fixing bikes and skis, which I guess is still playing outside.

Nordic ski coach and photographer now based in Jackson, Wyoming. Kirsys grew up in Sun Valley, Idaho always chasing whatever outdoor sport she could fit in. Aside from all kinds of skiing, Kirsys avidly enjoys trail running, climbing, backpacking, biking, traveling, and will get excited about pretty much any outdoor adventure.

Snowboarding is Andrew's favorite thing to do. Ever since he became obsessed with the sport about 20 years ago, he has explored terrain at more than 40 resorts across 11 states. But his love of snowboarding hasn't been contained to the US. Traveling is another of his most enjoyed activities. His pursuit of new places and fresh powder has resulted in snowboarding trips above and below the Equator, as well as in both the Eastern and Western hemispheres. Each season is an opportunity to test new snowboarding gear where he makes his home in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. When the warmer months roll around, Andrew still can't stay away from the mountains where he enjoys hiking, taking in epic views, or basking in the mist of any waterfall he can find.

Marlon enjoys the experience of being captured by the mountains. Marlon has been splitboarding and testing snowboard gear for a decade plus and is known to be one heck of a waterman when it comes to running big rivers across the world.

Avid outdoor enthusiast and performance coach, Isabelle Wellman spends her time testing gear and capturing epic adventures in the Sierra Nevada’s on her splitboard, skis, mountain bike, and trail shoes. With over a decade of experience working in the outdoor industry, Isabelle is keen to inspire other females to get outside and push themselves to a new edge. From professional ski and snowboard instructing, writing and photographing for professional media outlets, and training athletes to excel in their sport.”

Matthew Butterman is a writer, editor, special event promoter and communications specialist. He is News Editor for Handbuilt Bicycle News, and has provided media, marketing and PR services for international sporting events and trade shows. He has ridden anything on two wheels for over 40 years - focusing on road and cyclocross racing - and he has the scars to prove it!

Crista's weekly goal is to spend more hours outside than she spends sitting in front of her computer, but sometimes needs to compromise by sending emails from the trail. Crista has spent the last decade travelling the world leading an environmental NGO and supporting community-led development projects in rural areas. She found her home in Jackson 15 years ago when she discovered that a place actually existed where powder days took priority, showers could be optional, and finally no one cared what style of shoes you were wearing.

With a passion for adventure and a love for the rugged landscapes, Steph has spent the last 12 years calling Teton Valley and Jackson Hole home. You can find her snowboarding at the local resorts and in the backcountry, climbing in the national park or trail running around the mountains. As an avid gear enthusiast, she channels her experiences into insightful reviews, aiding fellow outdoor lovers in making informed decisions about their equipment.

Has worked as a professional photographer for the last 25 years, he was the staff photographer at Red Rocks for over a decade. He grew up in Colorado and has always enjoyed the Mountains, he was worked in the Ski and Bike Industry, throughout the state from Denver to the Vail Valley.

Scott Sheer has been on a snowboard since the mid 90's growing up in Los Angeles he headed for the Eastern Sierras as soon as he possibly could. Spending a little over a decade between Mammoth and Tahoe, his ever growing urge to find bottomless Pow took him to Jackson Hole. Currently Scott resides in Victor Idaho with his wife Alex and their menagerie of pets.

Reed is a cyclist, angler, photographer, and Kentuckian. He cut his teeth in the outdoor industry by teaching climbing, paddling, and mountain biking in North Carolina. Formerly a newspaper photojournalist, Reed now spends his time freelancing and ski instructing.

Patrick is a lifelong hunter who mainly chases whitetail, but also enjoys duck and turkey hunting. He has hunted game in various states throughout the U.S. and always enjoys hunting in new areas with new people. Patrick usually prefers his .308 while in the stand but is also an avid bow hunter. Patrick is the author of Omega Outdoors where he regularly publishes his hunting experiences, insights, and expertise. When he’s not in the great outdoors hunting, he’s writing as much as possible.

Travis is a native of Colorado who grew up in a family full of avid hunters and anglers, and his life has revolved around hunting and fishing since he was very young. He was instilled with great reverence for the outdoors from a very young age, which is what inspired him to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Management from Colorado State University. During the summer you can find him at his favorite fishing holes, the rest of the year is dedicated to chasing winter storms, deer, and elk throughout the Rocky Mountains.

Pat can be found exploring the mountains in the winter time on his snowboard and splitboards and then spends an equal amount of time riding around on his bike and moto in the Tetons during the warmer months.

Jonah's main fix is the outdoors. He splits his time teaching snowboarding for JHMR and as a fishing guide for Riversong Lodge in Alaska.

Molly Grove has sought mountain vistas and quality gear for most of her life. An early love of skiing paired with a high school job at a ski shop in Bend, Oregon laid the foundation for life in the mountains.

Marty is an avid skier and mountain biker that has been living and playing in Jackson Hole, WY for 20+ years. From a young age Marty was introduced to outdoor recreation and the gear associated with it through the Boy Scouts. One of his fondest pastimes was visiting the local gear shops in metro Detroit in search of the perfect setup for a backpacking trip to Isle Royal National Park or for a 10 trek at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristos. Professionally as a former snow sports hard goods buyer and ski tester as well as a lifetime in and out of the outdoor retail industry he has a knack for getting people on the right gear based on his own experiences. Marty’s current ski and bike partner is his 6 year old son. You can find him and JM out in Teton Village on any given day exploring the trails or slopes. When he’s not out teaching JM the ropes Marty is either planning or traveling to bike and ski.

You'll find Cody on the rivers or on the peaks. Thing is, you won't be able to find him at all.... When you do find Cody he will have a splitboard under his feet in the winter and a fly rod in hand the rest of the year. He's one of the fishing / splitboard gurus of this site.

Is passionate about outdoor activities, mainly mountain biking, splitboard mountaineering and climbing, although currently his life most easily integrates yoga and running. TAB the writer lives in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. He divides his time between freelance creative work, speculative fiction and the surrounding mountain wilderness. Tyler has been working recently as a tail guide while splitboarding in B.C. and knows a ton about backcountry travel in the mountains.

Robert has a graduate degree in environmental issues and is a 25-year veteran of progressive environmental activism in a variety of regions within the United States, including the prairies of the Chicago region; forests of the West Coast; the piedmont of the East Coast; and now, the deserts of the Southwest. He has focused his planning and program efforts on conservation biology and biodiversity, and water and watershed issues. He also lived on Bali, Indonesia for about seven years, and worked on similar issues there. He now lives in Phoenix, AZ with his wife of 25 years and son.

Sam is a landscape and wildlife photographer who grew up admiring and adventuring in the Tetons. He loves spending his free time searching for wildlife, seeking new landscape compositions, or backpacking in the many mountain ranges around Jackson.

Lexey is a lifelong skier, passionate river runner, intrepid trail runner and owns a ridiculous amount of sequined clothing for live music.

After graduating from and working at the University of Michigan Tom found himself in Jackson and life happened. Tom is a father, business owner, climber, skier, paraglider, mountain biker, hunter and generally a good dude, or at least tries to be.

Having lived in numerous places in the US and abroad as a military kid, Natalee has happily called Jackson,WY home since 2009. In the years since moving to Wyoming, she's fallen in love with splitboarding, rock climbing and moving through the mountains. Worked as a graphic designer in the outdoor industry since 2017, and began backcountry ski guiding in 2021.

Jackson Ariano has spent all 9 of his years playing hard in the Tetons. When not riding a skateboard, stalking trout, or cruising up and down big mountains, he likes to unwind with some jiu jitsu and the music of Snoop Dogg.

Eric Odlin is a life long snowboarder living in Jackson, WY. When not on snow Eric can be found running sound for all the major live music events in the Tetons.

As a nature athlete and research scientist, Jonathan appreciates exploring outside amongst the planet's elements while working to help protect them through enzyme engineering towards a greener chemicals industry.

Sam is a skier and mountain biker based in Jackson Hole, WY. He love all disciplines of skiing, from nordic to freeride, ski racing to ski mountaineering. On the bike side, he's pretty exclusively rides a mountain biker, but also loves trail riding and enduro racing.

Baxter has spent the past half decade in pursuit of climbing cliffs in the summer and hucking off of them come winter. He chased summers guiding on glaciers in Alaska and New Zealand since 2019, but has now decided to settle down a bit and call his winter home in the Tetons his full time home. His outdoor disciplines include skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, ice climbing and canyoning. Can also roll a mean burrito.

Rich Goodwin moved to Jackson Hole in the 90s to pursue a career as a pro snowboarder. These days he works locally and abroad as a designer, photographer, and socialite.

Cassandra Skipitis has been skiing and exploring the outdoors since she could walk. Along the way she has realized how great gear can really make a huge difference in her outdoor adventures. She seeks out the best of the best and won't settle for anything less.

Mallory started floating rivers before she could walk and is helping run a family river guiding business. She lives in Idaho with her family and works at a Montessori School. Teaching her own wild kids how to bike,fish and ski is one of her favorite things. You can find her swinging flies, picking huckleberries and splitboarding. She also cuts enough extra firewood to fuel a wood fire hot tub all winter.

Jack is passionate athlete, photographer and cinematographer from Bend, Oregon. He enjoys being in the outdoors pursuing and capturing the sports he loves.

Mike Feng is an amateur photographer and a gear nerd while working full time in clinical research studying humans and health. He is a former SAR volunteer and recreates by spending 100-200 days a year hiking, climbing, skiing / snowboarding, mountain biking, alpine climbing, and mountaineering. He puts as much time and effort into testing and studying his gear as he does studying human health.

Ian has been mountain biking and snowboarding for over 20 years. He now lives in Park City, UT and you can find him on the weekends leading MTB rides for Stay Park City Cycling or splitboarding in the local mountains.

Preston moved to Salt Lake City for the rock climbing in Little Cottonwood Canyon but quickly found himself daydreaming more about splitboarding and less about climbing. Once the snow has melted, you can catch him trail running to get ready for next winter.

Kevin Black has been snowboarding for over 20 years and recently picked up splitboarding. His summer hobbies include mountain biking and rock climbing / mountaineering as he trains to tackle some of the larger mountains on Vancouver Island in the winter.

Residing in Wilson, WY, Wills is an outdoor enthusiast who finds joy in exploring the Tetons year-round. During winter, you'll often find him splitboarding in the backcountry, while in the warmer months, he enjoys climbing and backpacking.

Vladi Lakov is a Sofia Bulgaria native and has been sliding down a mountain sideways for the last decade or so. A typical weekend warrior, with job flexibility that allows for his Peter Pan side to stay young, both in the mountains and by the sea.

Originally from Vermont, Jenner developed a love for the outdoors at a young age. Nowadays you can find him playing in the Tetons. He's a thru-hiker, snowboarder, biker and five-fun climber who is always up for an adventure.
